We’re working on a house, making it a duplex, put a firewall between it per our approved plans. Inspector fails inspection says I need 3rd party inspector to inspect and clarify plans. I get 3rd party guy to do that, cost $1000.
City inspector comes out again, say he needs to bring supervisor. They come out, fail inspection again, they want to escalate to management..
They are the city inspectors, don’t even know what to tell me to fix or do, just fucking with me in circles.. Wasting my time and money those idiots

It's this way with credit cards too. You could do a wire and wait. Or you can take a card that might get charged back or whatever. Lightning is better than that bullshit but it has tradeoffs.

One thing I don’t understand about all of the onchain payments. What, do you wait in the shop for your transaction to confirm, 10-60+ minutes? I understand LN, pay and confirm almost instantly, but any chain is just a constant waiting time.
I've read about it from a pretty prolific person who lived under it and escaped. I've read a lot of her work, but I didn't need to just for the point of how badly it sucks. That takes a paragraph, max. The related philosophy IS interesting and does take study, but just knowing the evil of socialism doesn't take much to understand.
I don't know that it's necessarily a good representation of the world.

I think they've figured out how to shape people's patterns. I don't think everyone is inherently their algorithm. This can happen in various ways or just by luck. It's probably worst for people who don't have a good sense of who they are or want to be.
We’re about 5 to 20 years away from getting to that point.
Monero scales pretty well, & can handle a higher throughput/Transactions Per Second (TPS).
Monero is going to need more daily transactions before we would need an L2.
It may happen but I don’t see it happening soon, and if it does it’ll be after FCMP++ is implemented.
