I can only imagine how much big Timmys in current vydia industry hates the legacy video game model and people like me, you know, the mf who paid just once for a game (even if overpriced on marketplace) and it's going to replay it countless times without paying a single extra penny or day... I never found the sudden hate for consoles, exclusives and collectors a natural thing.
Considering that the rent model is spreading and staying, even for using built-in-hardware in cars, I really doubt the IA bubble will ever put any real effort to develop and sell functional and local androides, as this would result in pay-once costumers instead of lifetime tenants.

To go further, the issue isn't with people's built-in schedules. The issue is with the culture, and how modern society pushes the 9-5 hours, itself an extension from farming.
