🇪🇹 Ethiopia’s 💧Water and Energy ⚡ Minister said his country has the right to build dams without obtaining prior approval from 🇪🇬 Egypt, amid continuing disagreements between the two countries over the use of Nile waters.
In statements reported on Sunday by the official Ethiopian News Agency (ENA), Itefa said Ethiopia was working to complete a major dam on the Magetch River for irrigation and water supply purposes, citing the country’s sovereignty, national water policy and its interpretation of international law.

Totally. One of my grandfathers was actually a good role model for this.
He had a childhood disease that affected his mobility, so he wasn't fit to work the farm fields like his brothers (nor was he ever required to go to war, so it was perhaps a blessing in disguise). But this was the aftermath of the Great Depression and everyone in the family needed to contribute somehow, so he became an excellent seamster.
This was back when traditional gender roles were much more tightly adhered to than today, but he never seemed bothered by it (at least when I knew him). He was good at a thing, really good, and that thing was useful. We should all be so fortunate.
