nostr got too fixated on zaps
i have nothing to sell or shill. don't care about internet points or being popular or liked or going to podcasts or hanging out with the hottest dudes. not afraid of saying dumb or wrong shit. here to learn and rawdog my thoughts and have fun. and build stuff occasionally. wysiwyg.

i did lost everything ~9 years ago. took the L, rebuilt myself and worked hard to get back into the game with a little help from my frens and family. didn't have to scam or blame anyone else.
Bitcoiners have not read Don Quixote and learned the bitter lesson.
They don't view the world as is, but as it ought to be. To them, a network protocol is a crusade for human freedom. Despite being delusional and constantly defeated, there is a profound, tragic nobility in refusing to compromise your values. Idealism is infectious. To the idealist, surrendering the ideal and accepting the mundane, cynical reality is worse than death.
The idealist is doomed to fail in the real world. Paradoxically, a world without idealists is a hollow place.
At the end of the day Bitcoin is just a tool. Be pragmatic. Use it to improve your life. Don't make it your identity or personal crusade to save the world. Don't waste your time and energy fighting windmills thinking that they are ferocious giants.

real. it's easy to integrate in Spain, less bureaucracy/taxes, more opportunities, hotter women, better food and wine.
i'm fucking devastated this week, i used to recommend self custody and even gifted some HWW to relatives (not CC). the fact that i could be indirectly responsible for them losing their hard earned savings haunts me.
fuck that, i choose violence

have nowhere else to :grimoire:o
build it and they'll come is a lie. you need to build something that people want and market it properly, otherwise no one will come.
how do you call it when you have an idea and can't stop obsessing about it and need to drop everything else to channel all ur energy into it? do normies have this problem too?
what nsite gateways exist out there? cc @npub1uac…99rx @npub1ye5…knpr
don't mesh with this dude
2 relays 1 monitor dot mp4
alphaama, nak and grimoire are the only nostr clients imo
i'm talking about outbox relay list config, that has nothing to do with groups (NIP-29) or private relays. i literally wrote a groups client bro.
50 relays in your list is just insane. anecdotal evidence.
if a client doesn't support NIP-65 is bad. use at your own risk.
i cannot control what people put on their relay list, only publicly shame when they do something insane.
categories: inbox/outbox inside NIP-65. ur just a troll and wasting my time. bye.
just gonna drop this here #nevent1q…aw7r
thanks for ur contributions sir. hope you come back. big L for nostr if not.
quite the opposite. llms can create a decent NIP-29 client, it's way easier than an outbox agora client. it'll probably cost way less tokens too :LUL:
cool thing is that nostr is permissionless and builders are free to do whatever they want even if others don't like it. for certain use cases censorship & moderation are a feature, not a bug, and nostr is flexible enough to accommodate those: see NIP-29, https://kubo.watch/ etc.
NIP-29 is lowkey the most hated NIP because it reverses the "smart client, dumb relay" assumption and is centralized by design. NIP-29 is private property, not a public square. The relay as the authority (who can read, who can poast, etc.) is a feature for this use case, not a bug. Incentivises running your own relay. Makes writing clients simpler. Your house, your rules.
The NIP-72 approach is naive, clunky, bandwidth and computation intensive, mostly poorly implemented and a dead end for what NIP-29 tries to accomplish.
NIP-29 is pragmatic, not purist. Keep hatin' but imma keep building on it.

afaicr NIP-29 was written by @npub180c…h6w6 but who wrote it doesn't matter in my opinion. nostr is a commons.
no worries. do you have a URL for the dev version of Flotilla where I can try these rooms? planning to do some testing later today if I have some time.
completely wiped? that's brutal bro
NIP-17 + NIP-4E make DMs a lot more viable for clients without access to your nsec.
interesting, I mostly use applesauce so I'll take a look there. I have no idea what Thompson learning is, u just nerd sniped me.
the software is the "easy" part. the hard part is gathering & aggregating vast amounts of public and propietary data, making it digestible, serving it with ultra low latency and earning the industry's trust: that can't be vibed must be earned. they've been doing it for decades. a frontend to display and analyze that data is the easy part. aside from the data moat, the top analysts in wall street use it because everyone else is using it (network effect).
but what data are you trying to show? financial data? or nostr? not sure what's the goal here
NDK is hot garbage, avoid like the plague. i use applesauce everywhere nowadays.
the way i see it AI is going to make their product way better.
:lul: now seriously tho, when humans wrote code we used to take great care of taming complexity by writing simple and robust code, creating the right abstractions to keep systems manageable, etc. we can't throw that out of the window just because llms can power through a bunch of spaghetti code. rigor is more important than ever so we can understand and change what these machines write.
yep and software architecture, data structures, algorithms... bread and butter of development. for smol vibe coded apps not as important, but if you plan on delivering something ambitious or serves a high quantity of users you definitely need it
sweet :POGGERS: @npub1era…skz0 started as a long af convo with Gemini to flesh out the idea & design. gotta be careful with the hallucinations tho.
21k lines? holy fuck that must be an Italian restaurant
it's what powers nostrnests afaicr. it's the most mature & scalable tech out there for this use case and trivial to extend with nostr or any other identity.
personalmente prefiero jumble.social o nosotros.app
I just had a thought that if you are balls deep (net worth, identity & worldview) in extremely adversarial tech like Bitcoin it might have a negative effect on your psyche and how you perceive the world. Similar mechanism for preppers, cult members or people with extreme political ideologies. No wonder some maxis check all those boxes and are completely detached from reality. Cognitive rigidity, us-vs-them thinking, and high intolerance of uncertainty seem to be very prevalent in these circles.
i'm simplifying & refocusing @npub1gm7…0fte to be just a NIP-29 groups client (chat & livekit audio/video rooms) and relay browser with rich event previews.
no direct messages since there is no spec that's widely supported and works well on browsers. no zaps since they don't work for moderated groups unless you use ecash zaps. no NIP-60 wallet which is a fucking can of worms and terrible idea.
less is more.
toda la cara de El Muñeco Diabólico
add that to the system prompt
you forgot grimoire.rocks but solid list bro. nosotros.app is good too.
it baffles me that a bunch of civilians stormed the Capitol to keep an authoritarian president in power but no one is raiding the White House now that the dark underbelly of the system has been exposed
got nothing brother. I ain't ghosting just don't get any new messages.
a fed running 24/7 in your computer. what could go wrong?
