The flow so far:
I started by making Brakenwake - a low poly demo. It worked OK, and I made a playable dungeon but I was not happy with any of the graphics and didn't feel like continuing...
So, i wanted to turn this into an actual nice looking playable game. I chose Unreal Engine. The end game will likely be large if finished and contain may assets. Browser is just not a good fit for downloading a ton of assets. I imagine it will be a multi-gigabyte download, 50gb at least probably. A downloadable game makes much more sense for this.
Seeing as how I have no idea how proper game design is done and which steps to take first, I started with the storyline.
Last night I had a rough idea for what I wanted - I wanted to start off with insane abilities so the game actually does not start on earth but in your Skyborn Kingdom. This part will be last to design because I just want to get the main first zone done first.
I opened up the chatgpt app and used the voice function to simply record my thoughts and asked it to help me refine the plot.
The original idea involved Gods, and I felt it was too complicated, so I asked to refine it to something much more simple. I noticed that simple games do best. If you think about vanilla WoW, it is a super simple game without much of a storyline to even get you started. You have a cinematic to start with and then that's it, you're in the game killing stuff. There is not much of a strong storyline behind WoW. There's lore, if you pay attention, but the game doesn't really revolve around it so much. This give me confidence that complexity doesn't really matter. Keep it simple, give it a story and set the player on a mission.
After getting a rough idea for the start and end game play (you actually start at the end so you see where you'll end up eventually), I needed a map.
Together with ChatGPT we brainstormed the first zone. It follows the story.
As the hero, you are cast down to earth and you smash into the ground below creating a crater. This is the starting point.
Your goal is to simply go forward, there's nowhere else to go at that point.. you figure out what's ahead, level up, get a bit stronger.
I contained the first zone to just level 1-12, but in reality I don't know what will happen, it's going to be a huge balancing act. What you have in mind is not always what will turn out. Zone might be too big for 12 levels for example, in which case I could extend it to 19 perhaps.
To keep it sane, I limit the scope to just the first map. I will do my best to make it good, and stop there unless there's any interest for further exploration.
A game is not a map with a bunch of gear and monsters to slash. You need story, progression, missions, discoveries, all of the other senses to tie together the experience - sound effects, environment, background score if any, cinematics, voice acting. IT's quite a bit of work... and I am not even sure I can do it it all, but it's fun so who cares!
To keep things organized, I asked ChatGPT to put everthing into a work folder, and asked it to generate prompts for the main map and for each subzone of that map. I used the prompt to create the zone map (see attached). This is the starting zone only. One path, one mission: discover, progress and get to the Fallen Spire. What awaits you there? I have no idea... haha. Perhaps the first relic fragment.
That's where I am now, I paste reference images to Astra and it crafts the world for me. I'll go back and forth until it feels right - actually run through it to see how long it takes etc... and only then when the terrain feels right and we have sufficient diversity is when we'll start adding details - grass, waterfalls etc... I suppose that process will take a few weeks. While I decorate the zone I will also need to think about the encounters, and various storylines that might happen there.

The meme only works if you never open the book.
Lobster falls under the ceremonial law. Food rules set Israel apart from the nations until Christ fulfilled them. Jesus declared all foods clean in Mark 7, and Peter got the sheet full of animals in Acts 10. Nobody in a biblical church is losing sleep over a lobster roll.
Rape carried the death penalty in Deuteronomy 22. The man dies and the woman is declared innocent. That's a harder line than any American court is allowed to draw.
Slavery gets similar treatment. Kidnapping a man and selling him was a capital crime in Exodus 21. Paul lists slave traders right alongside murderers in 1 Timothy. A runaway slave was not to be handed back to his master. And the Bible records plenty of broken things it never endorses. David took another man's wife, and God sent a prophet to his door about it.
The Canaanite conquest is the heavy one and it deserves a straight answer. God gave those nations four hundred years before judgment came, and later sent Israel into exile under the same standard. That was a judge ruling on a specific people at a specific time. No king or army gets to borrow that authority for his own war.
Then there's the part your meme skips. You call genocide evil and I agree with you. But in a universe of matter bumping into matter, where does "evil" come from? You're standing on a moral floor while trying to rip it out.
Happy to go verse by verse on any of these. #ToChristAlone

The rough plot behind Skyborn:
You are a part of a civilization that has ascended to live in heavens, a people technologically evolved and superior to humans. But you have not left the planet. Humans never encountered your people, but they can see something is happening in the skies above them.
The Skyborn live unbothered and moistured for most of their existence, feeling pretty good about things, until another civilization arrives - The Fallen, and shatters their world. The skyborn lose their technological advancements and ascended souls and are cast down to earth.
You wake up in a crater of your own making, having lost all of your abilities. Your goal is to reconstitute your soul and your special gear and to defeat the Fallen.
You roam the earth, growing in strength and abilities, slowly unlocking powers you once used to have. To unlock your final abilities, you must gather all the scattered relics. Only then can you return to your land in the skies and attempt to defeat the Fallen.
The game is 2 parts: the earthly adventures, and the Skyborn realm where enemies are much stronger.
Along the way, you make friends and allies, while defeating the early remnants of the Fallen.

The people using divine nostr network are very different than regular nostr network people.
The divine people really love filming themselves and holding the camera super close to their face. We definitely know they aren't AI bots.
Jack’s still here, like an omniscient, omnipresent deity. His spirit will be with us to the end of the age.
It's called leapfroging. Plus nobody wants their shitty currencies because they're the most liable to a warlord or a dictator over throwing the existing order and printing or nationalizing stuff.

God did everything a vinedresser does.
Then He looked for grapes and got wild fruit.
“What more could I have done?”
Isaiah 5:4
That question only makes sense if the harvest was not already written.
If the future is exhaustively settled, God is asking a question He already answered.
The text does not read that way.
"Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” Mat. 22:21
Government schools render our children to Caesar, marring the image of God and papering over it with the depraved and hideous image of Caesar.
Protect your children from the grasping hands of the State and render your children #ToChristAlone with an education befitting them as His image bearers.

If God speaks so you can understand Him, you don’t get to say other men understand Him better than His words do.
That’s holding man’s system over what God actually said.
It’s the same move the serpent made: “Did God really say?”
When God says He thought something would happen and it didn’t, the text is not asking you to protect a theory of God. It’s asking you to believe Him.
If your theology needs God to mean the opposite of His own sentences so He won’t sound too human, the problem isn’t the verse. It’s the theory.
Jeremiah 3:7.
Life can flip in a second. One phone call, one diagnosis, one unexpected moment and everything changes. Nothing is guaranteed. Not time. Not health.
Not the people you love. So love louder. Appreciate deeper. Because what feels normal today could be something you pray for tomorrow.

Sangha (Buddhist)
The Buddha said noble friendship is the whole of the holy life. We do not awaken as soloists. Sangha is the people who remind us to return. Gratitude for sangha is thanks for the ones who sit with us, who tell us the truth, who keep the forms when we are tired. Even a small group, even one friend who practices, is a field of merit. We belong to each other on the path.
"Admirable friendship, admirable companionship, admirable camaraderie is actually the whole of the holy life."

The longer I am here, the more I realize that my main dev talent is recognizing data structures and workflows that will work in a fundamentally superior way to whatever is Today's Hot Thang, despite the fact that hardly anyone agrees with me and everyone is telling me I am a stupid loser who can't admit that I am just stupid and a loser and your shit don't even work LOL, and just hacking away at implementations for years until everyone else can see what I saw at the beginning.
I sometimes feel a bit like Noah building his boat.
A very very small boat.
But a boat.
In the desert.
Give me two years.
The rain. It is coming.
But I sometimes wonder, is it that I can see the solution, or is it that I have some deep, inner confidence that I can always find a way through, if I keep hacking away for long enough and find enough frens to help? If we all just hack away, together, for long enough...
I've never not gotten through.
I wonder.
Holy shit balls. Look what my husband just surprised me with! It’s not even my birthday 😭 Psyched to finally get off the dull cutco standard😂

Like all the previous mixes it is an all genre mix, but heavily weighted on goth, just because that's what I enjoyed the most.
Found some real gems to put on here as well as obscurities and rarities. Everything has to pass the rigorous 'i actually like this' test.
