"All of a sudden, the powers that be are rendered naked, and begin to stutter. Then they show their true colors and blurt it all out. They treat a blockaded high school as “urban violence” and explain, on public radio, that there are too many high school students, that many of them don’t belong in high school, and that, anyway, even if they pursue an education, it will never be enough for them to compete with AI in the job market. Now everything becomes clear."

"Across Europe, there is new life in the streets. Across France, students are in revolt against a state that has abandoned them. Recently, this revolt has spread to Belgium, and there are early signs of it in Italy—now [Albania’s education ministry has caught fire], and it may go further still.
To break out of the pincer movement in which the progressive government and the CCOO and UGT have trapped us here in Spain, we must ensure that upcoming mobilizations, especially the general strike in November, do not turn out the way they want them to. The streets must not fall in line behind any government. Both our demands and our forms of action must outflank all of these actors from the left, placing them once again in an untenable position. We need to become unacceptable to the institutional left within the state apparatus once more. Otherwise, the window for mobilization that has opened up could close far too soon. The general strike must not become the end of this story, but only one additional chapter, one which we here must struggle to leap past and continue to push beyond."

72 year old man shot a drunk off-duty ICE agent in Fresno, after the ICE agent, who had passed out in front of his house at 3:30 AM, attacked the 72 year-old man and his daughter, who had attempted to make the man leave their yard.
The 72 year-old shot the ICE agent in self-defense, and an off-duty police officer who was the boyfriend of the daughter arrested the ICE agent.
The 72 year-old was not charged, but the ICE agent was charged with felony assault and is currently in custody.

"Advocates estimate at least 73 detained immigrants are participating in the hunger strike inside the Folkston D Ray James ICE processing center in south-east Georgia. The Folkston facility, a former state prison, is run by the private prison company GEO Group under a contract with ICE.
The hunger strike appears to transcend nationality, language and race, according to the detainees’ video, letter and report. The majority of the men who signed the letter are asylum seekers from a wide range of countries, including Russia, China, Sudan, Afghanistan, Nepal and others.
One of the lead organizers of the hunger strike, a Russian asylum seeker named Idris Makhmudov, has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement this week, according to Monica Whatley, an organizer in Georgia from the Campaign to Shut Down the Folkston ICE processing center.
The letter further reads: “We come from different countries, races, believes [sic], and background, but we share one thing in common: we came to the United States seeking protection and have been detained since then.”

"Early this morning in southern Arizona’s San Rafael Valley, at least 50 U.S. Border Patrol agents, including the agency’s militarized tactical unit, BORTAC, raided the resistance camp that has stopped Trump’s wall construction in the remote ranchería of Lochiel for over three months, invading private property without a warrant, attacking land defenders, and cutting down the last “grandmother” cottonwood that stood in the path of the wall on the U.S. side. Witnesses on the ground estimate that at least 12 people have been arrested and report that agents assaulted and tackled multiple individuals, pushing land defenders into barbed-wire fences, stomping on necks, and causing numerous injuries. Mexican police were also present for the raid, observing from the southern side of the border."

"In August, the local news outlet Double Sided Media filed a public records request for records about police officer Justin Peckels, which focused on potential misconduct between 2018 and 2026. Peckels has been the subject of community complaints, including for punching a resident in the face during a traffic stop, making the records vital for oversight and their release clearly in the public interest.
The city’s response is beyond belief. In its response to the request on Monday, the Eugene Police Department claimed searching for records and processing the request would take at least 44,816 hours of staff time and cost approximately $2,484,599.04. (A separate request by the outlet for similar records concerning a former police officer, Eric Klinko, was met with a comparatively modest estimate of $195,869.52, for a grand total of nearly $2.7 million for both requests.)"

"Protesters demanded the release of a man who was shot by an immigration official from the South Texas Immigration and Customs Enforcement Processing Center in Pearsall on Sunday.
“We’re demanding that he get surgery to remove that bullet,” organizer David Torres said, “and we’re demanding the detention centers close, and deportations must stop.”
Tensions rose about 10 minutes after the protest began when law enforcement instructed protesters to not block the street. Officers soon pushed them to the sidewalk, but that was the extent of contact KSAT observed Sunday.

"As opponents of fascism, we have several responsibilities. The first is to build a mass collective resistance to the state’s assault on anti-fascist and anti-capitalist movements. The second is to rally our communities against far-right attempts to take the streets, so they cannot rebuild their capacity to inflict violence. The third is to thwart fascist efforts to engage in entryism targeting the emerging social struggles against AI, data centers, and Flock surveillance cameras.
These are massive tasks, but the good news is that a new generation of activists is getting involved in community organizing on a mass scale. Seasoned organizers are in a position to pass on their knowledge and analysis to communities fighting against fascism. There’s lots to do. Let’s get to work."

People in Frederick, MD mobilized over several days to defend their neighbors from an occupation of violent ICE agents, who attacked people who locked arms to defend ICE from entering a home.
"They described the neighborhood as “tight-knitted”with a concern of protecting their at-risk neighbors from harm and possible disappearance of their children.
The observer said that there were three levels of support. “There were people from that neighborhood, then there were people from Frederick, and after a call for help went out Friday morning, people from Montgomery County, Baltimore, Hagerstown, and surrounding areas showed up as well.”
There was a mix of experienced activists, some of whom were trained in ICEWatch and rapid response, and others who weren’t trained but just wanted to support their neighbors.
Outside groups began to mobilize to provide food and street medical technical support if needed. It would end up proving to be an important part of the logistics support in the hours to come.
Residents sat on corners in folding chairs holding signs and began their coordinating their 24-7 neighborhood watch. They had no idea how long ICE would be there.
”People organized watches for when the children got on and off the busses because ICE was posted up at a number of corners and intersections, and some of those places were bus stops. ICE wouldn’t move away when the kids were gathered there,” according to the source.
As the night fell, it became apparent what home ICE was targeting because they were parked in unmarked vehicles outside it. Neighbors formed a line outside the home on the sidewalk. They began dancing to music. Fed up with the neighborhood resistance, an ICE agent drove his unmarked vehicle onto the sidewalk in front of the targeted home, ordering the neighbors to get off the property. At the same time another ICE vehicle drove into the street blocking the neighbors from leaving via the street. Some walked onto the grass to avoid getting hit. Video shows the vehicle making contact with a woman. Per the observer, the woman’s foot was run over but her boots prevented injury.
The neighbors locked arms together and formed a human chain in front of the door of the home. ICE agents charged and pushed into them began beating the group. Several were injured. They were later treated by the street medical technicians. Video shows the brutality of ICE agents.
ICE agents went into the home after a youth opened the door. They did not find the person they were looking for. Once the house was cleared, ICE left shortly thereafter.
ICE agents detained one person who was near the porch but released them without charges on the side of a road some distance from the neighborhood."

"I’m known as The Minnesota “Spiderman”, and I’m asking for help after a violent incident in downtown Minneapolis on August 22. That day, racist supremacists invaded our streets and threatened the peace of our community. I tried to block their trucks’ path with a police barricade, but police removed it and let them through. As the vehicle moved toward the crowd, I jumped onto the moving truck because I felt I had to do whatever I could to protect the people around me. I was pushed off, punched in the face, and trampled by police who, in that moment, protected the real threat instead of the community. After I was already off the truck and on the sidelines, about five police officers came from behind, tackled me onto the concrete with full force, and took me into custody without reading my rights."

"My co-defendant Cal said it best: “Homeland Security really kicked the hornets’ nest with this one.” The movement against ICE had burned out post-Metro Surge, after the state of Minnesota moved toward a strategy of local law enforcement cooperating with ICE to arrest immigrants on low-level offenses, turning folks over to ICE at county jails. This allowed ICE to quietly and more effectively carry out its work without the constant flashy confrontations of Metro Surge. The raids and indictments woke the Twin Cities up again. Hundreds have rallied at our court dates and the community is mobilizing for another wave of repression. Bluntly, the raids enraged the Twin Cities back into action.
For myself, I’ve received nothing but support here. My neighbors have offered to help my partner and I any way they can, donating money and food. People recognize me on the street and thank me for the work I’m alleged to have done. It’s very clear that the government’s claim that we are “a danger to our own community” is a load of horseshit and just about anyone in the Twin Cities will tell you as much. "

"Hundreds of noncitizens detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have gone on hunger strikes across the country to protest the widespread denial of due process and deteriorating conditions in detention centers during the Trump administration, according to advocates and detainees.
Conditions in ICE detention facilities have never been good, typically prompting around a dozen hunger strikes a year, said Josefina Mora-Cheung, director of organizing at La Resistencia, a grassroots organization that supports detainees at the Northwest ICE Processing Center (NWPIC) in Tacoma, Washington. Last year, La Resistencia documented 16 such protests, mostly carried out by single detainees. But this year, the group has already documented 18 hunger strikes involving about 25 individuals at NWPIC, the most recent of which ended July 20. "
