Hahn turns the resurrection into a mindfulness technique anyone can practice, saying: "If Jesus Christ could do it, then we human beings like him can also do it." He says that Christ is not the sole mediator.
In Thich's deception, Buddhism sets the boundaries and Christianity gets rewritten to fit. The historic Buddha and the historic Christ cannot be reconciled: one points to extinction with no personal God, the other is God in the flesh who came to save.
Reject Hahn, follow Christ.

I suspect you may not be the most familiar with the buddhist concept of anatta, or 'not-self.'
Curious if you've encountered Thich Naht Hanh's book Living Buddha, Living Christ. He was a pure land buddhist, not Zen, but they share more in common than what differs.
It's true they don't talk about God, but when you're constantly peeling away that which appears to be self...idk man, I think there's more similarities that look different due more to matters of language than substance.
Trappings of course vary, but trappings are hardly unique to anu one traditon. Arguably these are the graven images we're warned about anyway.
Not saying go be a Zen monk of course. In most cases it makes sense to find your way in the tradition you're familiar with culturally, rather than being a religious tourist. I find it helpful to be able to speak to someone in the spiritual language they understand though.
