The Nostr market is completely saturated with kind 1 clients.
1. There is no room for additional clients in this tiny market. People are tired of kind 1 clients. Almost as tired as they are of the DM circus.
2. Everyone already has one and people are loathe to switch to a different one.
3. There's hardly any high-signal content in the kind 1 feed, so it's basically a forum for people to meet up and chat and forums don't need any fancy functionality.
4. Groups and communities haven't really taken off because Nostr is so small that it's already a community.
5. The main differential is if your client lets you see kind 1 and kind 1111 events, or only kind 1. People who can only see kind 1 think everything is much quieter than it is, as they can't see most of the responses, but they don't know that.
6. Kind 1 remains important, but is quickly losing ground.
