I've met a few purists in my time. It's nice to have ideals to strive towards even if they're unrealistic when it comes to global mass adoption.
I love that I can trade peer to peer in a non custodial & trustless way but I understand it's not scalable like this.
So what's the best outcome that we can hope for as UTxO controllers & Bitcoin guardians?
If most world governments adopt bitcoin to store their reserve capital instead of gold & US T-bills, those UTxOs get removed from circulation. The purchasing power of sats becomes significant but most individuals don't hold enough sats to take custody of a UTxO. They're at best left holding derivatives of sats at worst they're issued valued tokens that are tied to a satoshi (eg USDC backed by sats).
It all feels quite depressing & unlike the bitcoin future I initially imagined would save the world from the fiat banking cartel.
