I've been far more serious about this with the new flock upgrades sniffing for wireless device signals. If you live near one I'm sure it's sniffing us in our homes so i've removed everything wifi that I can and try only turning the phone on once and a while to check for missed calls or if I need it for something.

I think this is more doable with a voip line. You can transfer your cell number over to it and many offer SMS as an option, so you if you need to make or take traditional calls or SMS you can from other devices.
