Lost Creek Ridge part 5. The trail switchbacks endlessly up this ridge--almost 4000 feet in just about three miles. The wilderness boundary is the top of the ridge. Once you get up there the trail levels out and breaks out of the trees into meadows filled with wildflowers. The magenta flowers are our ubiquitous fireweed. In photo 2 you can see how hazy it is; that's wildfire smoke.
