See I agree with the upsides of the default list as you mentioned. However it being almost all crypto talk is also a manifestation of that issue. My feed still has some crypto talk but it is probably 90% not Bitcoin related at this point.
Check out Dawn (nprofile…h33y) she has some amazing communities like spatia-arcana which I highly recommend. She's a rock hound and posts cool nature stuff in addition to the others that post overall weird and wonderful stuff 🥰
For travel I recommend jordanmiller (nprofile…hrwp) he's an amazing photographer who's travelled through new Zealand and documents a lot of fantastic hikes.
For the other stuff it might be worth while to scroll hashtags, it's great for discovery but unfortunately the bots spam hashtags a lot. A lot of folks like myself will boost content too, so sometimes just finding a few good accounts to follow can help you find more to follow.
