It's on the next ballot, but looking less and less likely. Polling shows support at ~30%, and the party currently in control of the govt recently lost a safe seat in a Calgary by-election, hinting people aren't happy with their members that have spoken out on it. The vote (which is to hold an actual referendum at a later date, not to seperate immediately) will likely fail, and supporting it might even lead to the ruling party changing hands. Definitely interesting times in Alberta.
