Tokenized real world assets: there is no trustless way to verify custody of the asset, so you're still trusting that the token is backed 1:1 by the asset, in which case doing this on a blockchain is just a less efficient way of doing something that trad-fi already does quite well.

I thought it sounded scammy when I first heard of it around 2017 and it still sounds very scammy.
