I read somewhere a while ago of some using either free or paid use SMS numbers to set up a Signal account. Because those numbers are typically recycled, some have lost access to their account and worse someone else gained access to their signal account. That person would not only access your history of communications but also be able to impersonate you. That is a serious security risk. Just putting this out there in case it wasn’t considered.
