Paul of Tarsus, the real father of Christianity was kind of a misogynist and sexphobic, but certainly not a bloodthirsty genocidal maniac.
Regardless of who actually really inspired and wrote the Christian Gospels and what the historical Jesus was really like (whether a fanatical Zealot, a peaceful Essene, or a rebellious Pharisee.. who knows) the New Testament is undoubtedly more loving and lovable than the Old One.
