Yes. The problem with the elegant solution to this is that most people can’t see 4, 8, 20, 100 moves ahead. It’s making tiny changes to an ecosystem that will have varied possible degrees generational ramifications. I don’t mean human generations, I mean generations across cycles within the ecosystem that you’re making alterations to. The elegance of bitcoin was more in how much insight was put into the structure that is non-programmatic than the brogramming structure itself. Consensus would never have created Bitcoin. I do wonder if consensus can preserve or rescue it. It’s similar to how full democracy without the republic aspects is ever doomed to fail. 🍿
