The reason I like kind 1 is the it's no strings attached. There is no etiquette there is no permission. It's fire and forget, and chat with people who feel like commenting. Share a thought, an opinion, some data, some memes and it all comes in unfiltered.
Forums are heavily moderated, have rules and a required etiquette, they require topics of discussion, and the only people who can tolerate all that friction are usually people you don't want to be around or meet in person.
Group chats and tools like are less strict but also have a funnel on topics and don't scale with many users. Talk too much and users that might have good input walk away because the thread got too long and people are too chatty.
Im not saying the kind 1 spec itself needs to stay. Im suggesting personal vomit feeds with threaded replies are something I tend to enjoy about nostr and social media in general, and if it died completely id be looking for it elsewhere I suppose.
