It's very cool that it can even be done without a fork but they had to make some design decisions that are annoying. Like, backing up a transaction in what we used to call nonstandard op_return.
Also, as long as your vault address is single sig, you'd better hope its got enough entropy or its no more a vault than any of the coldcards that got drained. Actual covenant op codes would enforce this on chain; presigned tx's and an offsite or destroyed key just hope the original key won't be there to do something otherwise.
But yea, this may keep you from having to pick between appendages and bitcoin.
