because they found something no one cared about but that had a strong narrative so pumping it was a no brainer, it was deep down in coin mkt cap, always overshadowed by monero, and the tech was good for this very narrow window, like really they had to take advantage of this little window of time they had from 2025 up to 2027 when zcash had better tech than monero (with the irony that it was broken and had inflation bugs), which will come to an end after fcmp++ hits mainnet and they go back to having nothing special at all, but at least they got rich in the process
