⚡️🤖 NEW - A major development in the world of AI.
Elon Musk (Grok) and Sam Altman (OpenAI) have joined Dario Amodei (Anthropic) in calling for a slowdown in AI development
I see three possible theories:
1️⃣ They saw things in their models that really scared them.
2️⃣ They’ve hit a ceiling and can no longer make progress with AI. To keep investors on board, they’re selling the opposite narrative: “Our AI is so powerful that it could destroy the world. ”
3️⃣ Their models are becoming autonomous enough to threaten their own company—for example, agents could slip out of their control, disrupt a country’s economy, or cause damage for which they would be held responsible.
So they want to regulate before things get out of hand, to ensure their own survival.
Personally, I’m more inclined to believe the third theory—what about you?
