Bitcoin should just be a international settlement system between nation-states like silver was in the middle ages.

Us plebs will just carry on, using our local payment networks like we always have.

There was no "silver layer" that approached universality or was even used in a SINGLE jurisdiction for a majority of transactions.

Payments were actually made with a hodgepodge of DIFFERENT networks, some of which were based on silver, depending on the peoples jurisdiction, the amount of value they need to transfer and their socioeconomic position.
This DIRECTLY contradicts the insane maxi thesis that using one value transfer system is somehow divinely preordained..

All that EVER happens is,
an empire tries to graft a system on their conquered territories and over those *native local payment systems*
a system they can use for exploitation and resource extraction.

Bitcoin is exciting because its a *voluntary* decentralized value transfer system that works great over distance. No empire required, people just have to find value in it.
But providing that value doesn't mean that ALL capital will magically collapse into it and other networks will are worthless and will disappear.
