If they were actual STEM, they wouldn't ignore actual scientific fields like anthropology when they intersect with economics. An economist that's a scientist would tell you money didn't come from a "barter economy," it's the other way around, bartering came after money, as anthropologists have determined. But economists aren't scientists, they're storytellers and manipulators, so they keep saying money came from bartering.
