yes I agree. Bitcoin is hopelessly broken, miners no longer fulfill their fiduciary duty to maximize revenues, the fee market has turned Bitcoin into a ghost town, all useful market activity is occurring on other chains
I don’t believe it can be fixed. There is no mechanism to discipline or fire Core.
Maybe! Regardless it doesn’t need Satoshi’s touch. Satoshi contributed a lot with Nakamoto Consensus. Unfortunately his project was hijacked by bad actors and is just a big clown show. The history of computing is littered with people who did incredible initial innovation but failed to create the product people actually ended up using.
I would have preferred for this not to be the case. I wanted to be a Bitcoiner. But Bitcoin has for the past decade ignored the real world uses of blockchains to focus resources nearly exclusively on the clusterfuck that is Lightning and becoming extremely late to the party on NFTs and EVM contracts. They ignored concerns about fungibility and counterparty censorship. There is better money out there now.
> eventually, everyone will take it
I'm a pretty old Bitcoiner, since single digit prices. I no longer take it. Like the vast majority of people that use blockchains on a daily basis, I have moved on. All the transaction volume is on other chains. Daily volume USD is bigger than Bitcoin on TRON-USDT alone. Fucking TRON bro. You maxi retards are getting clowned by a retarded shitcoin.
I only accept Monero because it is the only thing that resembles money independent of the state. Nobody is accepting your shitcoin. Less every day.
> especially those who make/have the really good stuff
Doesn’t seem to be happening. Zero evidence of this except an autistic dream in your head. Bitcoin is over now.
because nation-states generally don’t live in autistic libertarian fantasy where every counterparty for every good and service takes Bitcoin.
And even if you traded Bitcoin for stuff, you would still be trading them for stuff from governments that were hostile to you, and because there is no ledger privacy, they will just tell the people you gave the Bitcoin to not to ship you the stuff, and give the government the Bitcoin instead.
Bitcoin has this exact same problem. In order to actually use your Bitcoin, you need to sell it at an exchange. Since Bitcoin has no L1 privacy, if you’re an entity the exact same group of people don’t like your Bitcoins will be seized at the exchange when you try to convert them to useful goods. Bitcoin has done nothing to address this problem, even though Satoshi Nakamato himself said of ledger privacy, “If a solution was found, a much better, easier, more convenient implementation of Bitcoin would be possible.”
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=770.msg8637#msg8637
The solutions were not only found but implemented by Monero. Many people, including myself, have advocated for ledger privacy to also be implemented in Bitcoin, as Satoshi advocated, but now Bitcoin core is in the grip of Saylor and Blackrock types who say it is bad for Bitcoin treasury companies and private equity.
Sorry, Bitcoin keeps you on the ZOG financial grid just like everything else now. Monero is the only major asset with any degree of liquidity that actually addresses this problem.

I like what Anna’s Archive is doing, but frankly they never have the books I want and Z-Library always has them indexed first. Also Z-Library has the world’s most useful fulltext book search, their entire library indexed for searching phrases. I have a number of research subjects I like to get updates on, not knowing what specific book I want. And Z-Library alone facilitates finding new works relevant to the subject matter! So I support them instead as my illicit book dealer. Incidentally they doing a fundraiser right now and they also take XMR!

they're not actually producing anything useful, which is why they are clustering around government contracts
Yea sadly many exotic fruits never make it to the markets. Papaya, Pina, Mango, Sandia - rinse and repeat ;) I live in the central pacific zone near Esterillos / Playa Hermosa.

"Math Blaster" will bluepill your children. What you want is "Math Rescue" for DOS, where one of the villians is a giant nose that has eyes and arms attached and steals digits from your parents' paychecks.

I tell people Bitcoin is freedom money even though it really is surveillance gold. :)
looks juicy 😉 i love acidity, need to see if someone sells one of those on a farmers market
I heavily disagree here. The correct way forward is to increase privacy with clients connecting to a potential malicious node and reducing the potential impact the bad node could have.
Making connecting to a node harder isn't a great way to adoption.
Have sane defaults for normies and the potential for pros to perfect their privacy needs.
I don't like the chain of interstitials. I prefer LibRedirect
It was an honest mistake, this dude has done a ton of work with me at rates that are absurdly friendly. He’s a total bro and it’s a rounding in the project budget. I’m not going to nickel and dime anyone over an honest mistake. Things happen, lessons learned, mistakes are made, cost of doing business.

Fuck I feel like a retarded boomer. I just got scammed. I was asked by one of my contractors to pay for a development server alongside a link. Not assuming they hadn’t done due diligence on procurement I put in the order. But they had asked fucking Perplexity to find the cheapest thing, and the scammer had done the whole “cater your scam site to do the clanker-SEO” and ended up with a recommendation list full of scams.
It was not a significant amount of money but it is the first time ever I have sent money to a scam in my life. There was a short chain of failures that lead me to this point. I wouldn’t have done it solo. Anyways point being “people you hire listening to clankers who have been injected full of scam sites” is absolutely a business risk that I just personally felt.

To those that have lost and frozen money in Liquid, note that this guy was the manager responsible for it. Look at the beak on this “Russian” Michael Minkevich.
Mark Karpeles, NVK, SBF, Alex Mashinsky all share his ethnicity and religion. Is this just a coincidence? Those who follow the rule of strictly excluding any assets intertwined with these people would have avoided all the major traps that have plagued cryptocurrencies with 100% accuracy. Embrace only Aryan finance, and you suddenly exclude 99.99% of all losses that have ever been incurred in the industry. Isn’t that strange?

When neuralink becomes a thing (it is already a thing - some unwitting people already have brainchips), people are going to start wondering why your average disobient individual went insane one day.

I honestly think Monero is nicer to handle than self-custodial LN, but you might be more skilled/capable than me.
And yes Monero UX still has some rough edges, but I hope that the synching complains are gone after the FCMP++ upgrade.
Years ago when I said “we need a nip”, it was when I wanted to add a yellow slut to the array of women in my room. But now it means I want a new feature in my posting software.

yes, chain membership proofs for public messages is actually good in the era of insane speech policing. We need a NIP
Honest question: what makes Monero a shitcoin for you?
The "🤯 maximalism" was about the amount of people voting against it.
I still don't get how anyone could seriously call Monero a shitcoin.
Also huge is that there were zero legitimate businesses on Liquid. Nobody was ever doing anything substantial with it. It was just a quasi custodial way to sit on a hoard of 4k Bitcoin with no fucking purpose, and grift VC money convincing people that it was going to lead to viable business in the future.
In contrast, Monero is a driver of a ton of commerce. It has more daily transactions per billion of market cap than any other top 20 coin. People are watching Monero. I am watching Monero and doing non-cached, live supply verifications as blocks come in because it is the cornerstone of my net worth.
Liquid had nobody whose eyeballs mattered because it was a useless maxi scam, much like ColdCard. Everything this entire clique produces and promotes causes people to lose massive amounts of money because they are all useless, subhuman parasites and scammers. The best thing Bitcoiners could do to revitalize Bitcoin is start putting bullets in their heads in retaliation.
Holy shit, that level of blind maximalism 🤯🙈
Also if you're a merchant and you're NOT accepting Monero, you're missing out 🤷♂️
