Lately I actually read the terms on almost everything I open. Apps, accounts, updates, that little checkbox nobody reads. And every time, somewhere in my head, I'm saying fck no.
They want my location to show me the weather. My contacts so I can send a message. A license to everything I post, forever, in any media "now known or later developed." We click agree because the only other option used to be going without.
The terms end with us.
Whether it's a protocol, a machine, a house, or a relationship, maintenance is always cheaper than repairing.
What you don't maintain, you eventually lose
Teaching people how to regulate their emotions is crime prevention. It's addiction prevention. It's suicide prevention. It's generational healing.
It's how we stop raising adults who explode, implode, or shut down at the first sign of discomfort.
Emotional regulation is not just a soft skill. It's survival. It's the foundation of a society where people can disagree without dehumanizing each other, where accountability isn't seen as an attack, and where conflict doesn't always have to mean violence. You want a better world? We ought to start with emotional education

We’re early. I agree. It’s coming.
People have asked me how to grow on Nostr. It comes up every couple months, usually in a DM from someone who's been posting for a few weeks and feels like they're shouting down a storm drain.
The real answer is less clever than they're hoping for. Sure, you should know where the attention is. Which relays people actually read and when the feed wakes up. That matters some. It matters a lot less than they think.
What moves people here is hearing something true. Most of us spent years on platforms that paid out for whatever kept the advertiser comfortable and the algorithm fed, and you learn to smell a post written for a committee. Nostr folks have that nose sharper than anyone. A lot of them left the old places specifically to get away from that smell.
This is a free speech protocol, and there aren't many of those. Your reach comes from people choosing to follow you and choosing to repost you. So the only real lever is whether what you said was worth reading. That's a harder bar than gaming a feed, and the people who find you that way tend to stick around.
Say what you actually think. Say it plainly, in your own words, and let the people who disagree show up in your replies. Zap the ones who push back well. In my experience they're the ones who end up reposting you.

And know what is waiting. Christ is not standing there to grade the week you just had. He is worthy on his own account and he gives himself to men who arrive with nothing in their hands. That is the entire offer, and it has never once been adjusted for merit.

Fed hiked a quarter point yesterday. Warsh says it's good news for folks who don't own assets, which is a bold thing to tell a guy who's been watching his grocery receipt get longer since 2021.
Twelve people sat in a room, decided what your paycheck is worth for the next few months, and we all just kind of nodded. I keep my savings somewhere that doesn't hold meetings.
I realized people only like you when you're easy to benefit from. When you say yes, stay quiet, and let things slide, they love you. But once you start saying no, setting boundaries, and standing on what's right for you, everthing changes.
Suddenly you got an attitude. Suddenly, you're the problem. Truth is, they never respected you, they just liked your silence. I'm not being difficult, I'm being real. If me protecting my peace offends you... that's your issue, not mine.

Every era has a defining skill. Ours is knowing what to make visible and what to keep sovereign. Build in public. Learn in public. Contribute in public. But save in Bitcoin and protect your advantage in private.
The people who master both reputation and sovereignty won't just participate in the future. They'll own it.
Some days posting here feels like nobody's listening. You write something you actually care about and it gets two reactions and a 21 sat zap from the few people who zaps everything.
That's what early looks like, though. The people who kept stacking through 2022 weren't getting applause either, and most of their friends figured they'd lost it. The devs building clients here are shipping updates to a few thousand users and doing it anyway, because they think this matters. It does.
No algorithm is paying anybody here to keep posting. If you're still showing up, it's because you believe in it. I'd rather build with a few thousand people like that than perform for a million who'd leave the day the feed changes.
So keep posting, and zap accounts when they say something good. That's how most of us got found in the first place.

Lobster falls under the ceremonial law. Food rules set Israel apart from the nations until Christ fulfilled them. Jesus declared all foods clean in Mark 7, and Peter got the sheet full of animals in Acts 10. Nobody in a biblical church is losing sleep over a lobster roll.
Rape carried the death penalty in Deuteronomy 22. The man dies and the woman is declared innocent. That's a harder line than any American court is allowed to draw.
Slavery gets similar treatment. Kidnapping a man and selling him was a capital crime in Exodus 21. Paul lists slave traders right alongside murderers in 1 Timothy. A runaway slave was not to be handed back to his master. And the Bible records plenty of broken things it never endorses. David took another man's wife, and God sent a prophet to his door about it.
The Canaanite conquest is the heavy one and it deserves a straight answer. God gave those nations four hundred years before judgment came, and later sent Israel into exile under the same standard. That was a judge ruling on a specific people at a specific time. No king or army gets to borrow that authority for his own war.
Then there's the part your meme skips. You call genocide evil and I agree with you. But in a universe of matter bumping into matter, where does "evil" come from? You're standing on a moral floor while trying to rip it out.
