Yeah that's surprising actually. I burned it probably 2 dozen times, left it out in the rain, and it hasn't rusted or burned through yet. I figured the inside can would go pretty quick, to but it's still fine.
If I can play Halo:CE and Unreal Tournament on my Switch I'm fine, that pretty much covers me for gaming. I honestly wasn't expecting a port of Wine & DXVK to Switch. Thanks Valve, for all that work on ARM compatibility 😂

Yeah it's great. Rather than smokiness you get a nice wood smell. Burning some pine in it is really nice.
I even roasted hot dogs a couple times and boiled water for coffee, so it's functional too.
I got way more use out of this little fire pot than I thought I would this summer. A smokeless fire that lasts ~30 minutes is a nice way to relax at the end of the day.

I should go back to my openbox/stalonetray/conky setup I used in the past. No panels, no 'start menu', no desktop icons. Just a desktop info center & keyboard shortcuts, and a desktop that loaded into less than 200MB of RAM. Really freaked out normies who tried to use it 😂

Yeah that's definitely bad form for anyone working for any of these organizations. No one should be shamed into donating. I always say no when I'm asked for donations at the store for instance, that seems dodgy. I do participate most years in the Terry Fox run, either as a participant or a volunteer. Growing up some members of my family were helped by these same organizations, so it feels good to pay that back.
It's important to note they don't just fund research, but also help individuals who have cancer with funding when they are unable to afford it. My family lived in a rural area, and things like helping with transportation and lodging when traveling long distances to larger centers is one thing they also do with donations. Having your family around instead of being alone can be important, especially when you don't know how much time is left.

I'm assuming from your username you're American. It's possible healthcare is different in other countries vs what you experience. A lot of this sounds like complaints about the American for profit health & pharma industry.
From a quick search it looks like comparable treatments for cancer in America are in the range of 2x to 10x in actual cost vs here in Canada, and that's before considering our single payer provincial health care systems cover most costs, funded by tax dollars. Might be a good idea to point this energy towards the inefficiencies in your own system.
Canada's system is by no means perfect or the best in the world, but somehow spends less than half as much per capita on health care ($5500/year vs $12000/year), and Americans are still required to have additional insurance to receive care in most cases. Even with this spending difference health outcomes are largely similar in most reporting I can find.

I'm not sure how it works elsewhere, but in Canada funding from CCS & the Terry Fox foundation goes to universities and research hospitals, *not* for profit pharmaceutical & medical companies. The funds are also earmarked for research only, specifically not to be used for legal costs, manufacturing, etc.
Depending on the province IP will be owned by either the researcher themselves or the university. They will then license for-profit companies to use it, where they do the funding of final human trials, manufacturing, and bringing it to market. This lets the foundations themselves remain non-profit entities, and researcher/university are able to self fund future research from license fees. It is also common practice for these licensing agreements to have clauses that stipulate a portion of the profits from marketed treatments be directed back to the non-profits that initially funded them as well, ensuring they continue to function.

I don't believe it would turn into an armed conflict, more of a legal thing working out the separation between provincial, federal & First Nations parties. This isn't unprecedented in Canadian history, and there is actually process for it in the Canadian Constitution. Quebec has had referendums on separation twice, in 1980 & 1995. In '95 it almost passed, but was declined by a small margin, 50.5% no to 49.5% yes. I remember 95 clearly, it was always taken as fact that if the vote passed QC would become it's own country.
