Jack’s still here, like an omniscient, omnipresent deity. His spirit will be with us to the end of the age.
The Dell XPS 13's speakers are fine for a PC, but are practically tin cans when compared to an Apple device. Which is exactly what one should expect, but there you go.
Typically, in a bigger environment, yes: it's a visual sign that can act as an invitation. When I served in Chicagoland proper, I almost always wore clerics.
In my village, nearly everyone knows who I am, and therefore the need isn't the same.
Also: priests never wear their collars on their days off, and that's the start of mine 😀.
The folks at the local bar and grill should see the local priest cheering and eating wings with a Roman collar, no?
On Sunday afternoons, it seems like half of my village runs through a local bar and grill for wings and football. Here's me with some of the boys this weekend (far right). Good people and good times. What it's all about.

I will now forever be a part of the "stolen valor" Linux community.

Alright, AI agent, I kind of suck at Linux and always have. Here's my problem. Fix this.
Fixes this.
Me: :wisp_cool:
I just made my first theme with integrated AI in Omarchy and I don't think my life will ever be the same again.
Good hardware with a nice linux distro...🤌
Cool, it's my daily driver on old X1 Carbon ThinkPad. You installed #Omarchy Quattro right?
How fun is it on a scale from 1-10, Father?
I think I'd need more time to play around with it and learn it. I am loving it on the XPS 13.
As a bangaround computer funbook. No real purpose. Just having fun with it.
What are you using it as?
Good afternoon. Playing around with Omarchy. It's interesting.
Up too late, but that changes now. GN all.

GN all.

One less earthly attachment I guess, but I hope heaven has put serious consideration into how satisfying it is to use their removable media.
My dad "liquidated" our old systems in the late 90's when I was in college. Broke my heart.
Do you still have that? Put linux on it so you can read old floppies.
Since we might be doing this: my first PC. It was quite the step up from my Franklin Apple II clone, which had a 300bps modem.

100% intense pickle ball action
I am pulling for Shelton. Who are the bears? Is that pickle ball?
Collar counties still keep it Chicago.

CA is too big to qualify as like anything. LA ir SF may be like NYC, but almost nothing else is. The state is just too big for that noise.
I love CA. I hate CA.
It is, for me, a very large NYC.
We move XMR, we squirrel hole BTC. That's the dynamic. The only conflict exists in your mind.
Finnegan was skeptical. It was actually quite mild.

GM. Or afternoon. Or whatever it is.
Here's an absolute banger from a new indy artist.

It always does, for sure. At the same time, we don't shy away from the reality that we the living feel that loss: one of my favorite prayers, the Salve Regina, calls our existence a "valley of tears," and the more losses I acrue, the more acute that sense gets.
GN... I am up too late.

They need those visits. Thank you.
On Fridays I always visit my homebound shutins. Love them all, but it's hard watching them deteriorate, and harder still to lose them. I don't handle it as well as I used to.
Yep. The classic scenario is "the plane is going down."
Ah sure, like on a battlefield or if firemen are rushing into a burning Manhattan highrise
September 10th, 2021. I was 21 years old. I stood in line at the cafeteria. Didn't have a girlfriend.
The same loose language. Absolution is what is granted in the Sacrament of Reconciliation/Confession. In the case of an emergency, though, I can grant absolution outside of the context of a confession.
September 10th, 2021. I was 21 years old. I stood in line at the Record Service on Green Street in Champaign with other faithful Dylan fans. Bought "Love and Theft," listened to it two or three times. Fell asleep with the words to "High Water (For Charley Patton)" in my head.
Girlfriend called, woke me after six hours of sleep. The whole world was tilted sideways.
And the words for "High Water" still ring around in my brain 25 years later.

I thought absolution was the same as reconciliation? Maybe I'm mixing sects.
My inner child is happy knowing one of us gets to experience this haha
They're also as stale as you'd expect them to be, which is part of the nostalgia.
The food pantry gave us multiple bags of cereal-sized marshmallows to distribute through our supplemental kitchen. Are these ghosts? Teeth? Either way, my childhood dreams re: Lucky Charms have come true, and I am very tempted to throw some milk on these badboys.

We actually do, depending upon the sacrament in question. The only one that becomes iffy is Reconciliation and Preaching, since faculties are specifically granted. But they're granted in perpetuity, until there is a need to withdraw them. I was granted this authority four bishops ago.
Something like baptizing or saying Mass is not directly derived from the Bishop, although it should be done in union with him. I could leave the Priesthood with no formal ties to my bishop and still celebrate a valid Eucharist, but it would be illegal (illicit) for me to do so. Would the matter be transformed, however? Absolutely.
Also, to make things even more complicated: ex-priests always retain the right to grant absolution and even to anoint in emergencies.
I mean sacramental authority. Since priests don't have their own.
We have an Apostolic Administrator currently, and he has some authority. For example, he can't name pastors, but he can name them administrators. I am still a pastor under the authority of the old bishop, though, so all is as normal as it gets there.
