Sure, just read everything at mises.org and you basically got a PHD
If you want a masters degree from a university that's not useless, check out Hesperides.
A private university that goes to extreme lengths to not receive any money from the state, with a solid curriculum for both Austrian economics and Bitcoin.
I'll be teaching the masters on Bitcoin Privacy next semester.

First successful messages between Scramble and @nprofile…radp !
This is huge, because Scramble is a from the group up reimplementation of both MLS and Marmot in C#!
If @nprofile…akkk can build a fully independent marmot ecosystem that's interoperable with MDK (rust) & @nprofile…radp, then so can you!!

It's only a monopoly if force is initiated to stop new entrepreneurs from providing a good or service.
Its irrelevant if a business is the only one that provides a service.
Yeah.
Its kinda like lightning or ordinals in this regard.
Not sure if 5 year olds get those buzzwords, lol
New paper dropped.

Anonymous bitcoin transactions with zero knowledge proofs validated by a companion software alongside Bitcoin core.
Cool.
Curious to hear your thoughts after the book, please do let me know.
You need much more than just capital to be successful.
And again, they wouldn't steal from anyone in this case. A business does not own the future purchase decisions of future customers, that would be slavery.
I get you.
My argument still stands even in this case tho.
I see why that's counter intuitive, but it's pretty straight forward if you think about the actual legalities of it.
That's why Kinsella is so insightful, he's actually a patent lawyer, and one of the sharpest thinkers about libertarian jurisprudence.
It is fascinating, you'll enjoy the book, it covers this and many more cases.
You could let everyone who joins a concert sign a contract that they must never whistle the song to anyone else, and if that is the condition for them to enter the room and listen, and later they spread the song, than that's an unethical violation of contract. It is however not "theft" of the music.
But as you can see, that wouldn't really make you a popular musician and probably go against the reason you're creating art in the first place.
What's important here is that contracts only bind the signatories, so if someone walks by outside on the street and catches the tune, he has no obligation to be quiet about it.
Information longs to be free, it's insanely hard to make it otherwise.
And just to be clear, I LOVE your stuff, and I think you have the chance to finally fix the music industry with v4v.
But the reason why I love your approach is because it stays true to the economic logic of scarcity, and I believe you'll have even more success if you double down on this approach, rather than cutting it back halfway.
One example of going even more radical:
Release all your recoding material for free, including all the retakes and bloopers.
Open it up for any producer / editor to riff on it, re edit and remix it.
You'll be amazed what beautiful things others can do with your ideas and tunes and voice.
A great short book on this is Against Intellectual Property by Stephan Kinsella
(Obviously available for free online)
https://mises.org/library/book/against-intellectual-property
The above linked chapter of my book is basically a summary of this.
Economically speaking, you need capital in order to produce things, those are the means of production, and they include, land, resources, and labor. But ideas are also required for any production.
Imagine you're on an island with all the resources laid out infront of you, but you lack any ideas or information of *how* to build anything. You'd starve without accomplishing anything.
The beauty of ideas is that it's the only production good that is non scarce, thus not rivalerous, and thus anyone can use it without taking from another. The fact that copying someone else's idea to help you build your things is **beautiful** and the world would collapse without it.
Just imagine if you we're not allowed to play a C# in your songs because someone else came up with that vibration, or you couldn't riff off someone else's theme. Music would die of stagnation and boredom if we would put ideas in the same box as property.
If they would put your music behind IP law, then they are using state force to prevent you from publishing your music, and then they would be stealing from you indeed.
But that's because of the unjust application of force to prevent you from speaking / singing, not because your music is scarce or ownable.
You're right that the labor you put in to create something is scarce.
This is quite similar to software development, which is where FOSS is clearly working. Devs put a lot of scarce time into writing the code, but then the result is non scarce information, and there's no marginal cost to share it with someone else.
The entire cyberspace is built on this model, and countless people are making a great living with this approach.
I see no reason why it shouldn't work with music too.
That's great to hear!
I was wondering if I went too deep in that part of the book, now I'm glad I did
You still could spend your time as you see fit, they didn't enslave & force you to do the music, that would have been the theft.
Also why where they more successful than you in getting paid? Presumably they did better marketing etc. Do you now have a claim on their labor in this regard?
Fake news.
It used to be that engineers over estimate how fast they can ship something.
@nprofile…d6g2 said it'll take a week to build this complex piece.
Turns out it is done in about two days.
We'll get a major @nprofile…radp release out much sooner! Hopefully tomorrow.
#nevent1q…hjq6
omg the next @npub10r8…t2p8 release is going to be 🔥
Make it more private, faster, and easier to discover the right apps.
Just a casual 314x speed improvement to adding members to @nprofile…radp groups incoming.
@nprofile…gc9q is a wizard.
Yeah working on that right now.
Nostriches are the best.
Thanks to all the early @nprofile…radp testers, the feedback and bug reports are the best!
That's why we released only on nostr.
Oh, Thanks for the report, haven't seen that yet, we'll fix it.
Great question, it's a hard problem.
My strategy for this is:
Bootstrap with nostr and bitcoin plebs, they're at the cutting edge and understand and value the spirit we're building in.
Make it work fantastic for AI agents, because you don't need human friends in the app when you have 100 agents to talk to.
Get it in the hands of journalists and activists who need unstoppable secure messaging.
That's as far as my plan goes as of now, but that's already getting us to 100k+ users hopefully. From there on out it's easier to grow.
Yes, hook up maple to opencode, and then hook up opencode to whitenoise. (In the android app you can copy a one shot prompt to do that)
It works wondeeful!
It looks like you have bad relays in your list. Check and remove those that are not online at the moment. We should automatocally fix this in white noise.
We only show these requests when a relay in your list is broken. If you have broken relays in your list then that slows down every client of every user who's viewing your posts. That's why a radical solution is adequate. We definitely have to work on these checks and fixes, they can be further improved.
I'll look into it, we're using roborazzi atm.
The biggest pro@npub1whtn0s68y3cs98zysa4nxrfzss5g5snhndv35tk5m2sudsr7ltms48r3ec right now is inefficient processing of the group state and inefficient relay connections.
You can think of white noise like the equivalent of a Bitcoin full note versus a bank account. Apps like Signal have the benefit of a central server that can offload a whole bunch of processing and therefore make it much more efficient on the client application.
White noise is a local first convergence machine. So it has to do a whole bunch of processing to keep in sync with the group. This gets especially tricky when the app is closed or offline and has to catch up.
Currently it's designed so that it is very unlikely to fork the consensus, but at a huge computational cost.
What we're working on now is to massively improve the performance of our convergence state machine, and to also make our relay connections a whole lot smarter. This is a big undertaking and it will take us about a week of back end library development but expect a lot performance improvements and battery optimizations in the coming weeks.
User reports bug on @nprofile…radp
I forward to the agent on @nprofile…radp
Agent sends me apk to test the fix on @nprofile…radp
It feels like magic to build the app inside the app.
Glad to hear that!
@nprofile…we42 is a rock star designer, the UIs are beautiful now!
Yeah, and second group is filling up fast too!
Yeah, this appeared recently, still troubleshooting, thanks for the report!
Good to hear about image upload speed! Download is too slow tho...
It might take as long to implement that cap rather than just scaling more, haha.
But yes we should do that.
Yes, its a good idea, we'll do that.
Quick update on @nprofile…radp scaling.
It seems the current limit is ~ 50 members in a group. Inviting additional members fails to deliver invite welcome messages to the new user.
So best keep your groups under this size for now.
We didn't focus on scaling at all so far.
Step 1 was to make it work.
Now comes a lot of performance improvements, which should also help with scaling.
I'd love to reach at least 10k members in a group, in theory we can do even more, but thats hard engineering ahead.
Yes, but in that case they require a google account 😩
Yeah, I get the pain
Trade offs all the way down, the app is much simpler because we abandoned the old stack.
We dont plan to break user space again tho, so from now on it should migrate properly.
We decided to not do that, too much work to get migration to work, and almost nobody used the old app cause it just didnt work.
Sorry, but full focus on the future.
Your follows will be migrated (regular nostr)
But even with your nsec the client can't find out what people you talked to in the old app, (that's the whole point) so you'll just have to start fresh chats with those.
It's coming hopefully soon.
