Regarding the government debt spiral: the government can't print their way out of this. They don't issue the currency. That authority was abdicated to the independent Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve is signaling a reluctance to backstop this growing liability much further, by their decreasing intervention in the bond market.
The next decade is going to be very interesting.

Exactly. The word proven is silly. It's BS all the way. The point I was making is that the technical side is too. Maybe went a little over the top but figured if you're not oilfield, you could chick in ai and it'd potentially give you some cool research if curious. There's a platform in the north sea below sea level (or there was, not sure if still operational) because subsidence was bigger than planned for. They built a concrete jacket around it. Basically they'd calculated with one recovery estimate but tech improved, they got a lot more, and the sea bed subsided more than calculated as a result. It's all blind dart throwing in many ways. Technical, but still very fluid in terms of numbers on all sides

If "proven reserves" is a number both sides of the table bend to get a better price, and OPEC members bumped theirs overnight in the late 80s once quotas got tied to it, then it was never a geology number. It's a negotiating number. What gets reported and what gets pumped is decided by whoever holds the pen. The rock doesn't get a vote.

ひとつだけ気になる点は、30日間の反復が周回時に単調になりうるところです。既読スキップやテンポの調整といった配慮が加われば、記憶に残る傑作になるでしょう。

You're gonna sell me an asset and give me some multi well propagated petrophysical characteristic model where you've assumed permeability of X with theoretical porosity percentage and an irreducible water saturation Y with immovable oil number pulled slightly out of your ass through whatever constants you threw in the model which might or might not have been calibrated to core. I'll sit on the other side of the table arguing for other constants and metrics to demonstrate a lower producible reserve estimation to get a better price. Which one is correct? Which one is used by governments or regulators? How does technological progress or drilling, completion and production methods move the needle? Fuck knows, it's just a good number!

記帳・消印・取り消し線といった帳簿の所作が、そのまま世界の改変とプレイの進行を兼ねる仕掛けが、物語のテーマと見事に接続しています。
