I remember steemit. Thought it was pretty cool at the time. Ultimately it's downfall is that it did have a company and single group of developers behind it. Nostr can't die because it's decentralized. One relay can shut down, one client can stop getting developed, the rest of us keep building in every different direction at once.

New folks should honestly focus on replies and quote-posts that add value to the conversation. Most people don't read directly from relay feeds to see kind 1 notes from people they aren't already following.
