It’s amazing how much my ear is now attuned to the spliced-in audio in audiobooks. It’s something I never used to notice as much, or at least just glazed on by, but now after having produced it myself, I can immediately tell whenever there was a re-recording spliced in later. Or, in the case of full-cast narrations, where they were just chopped together and not recorded in person. It’s amazing how much these things make a difference…
