Why do I practice Qigong?
Because Qigong found me through meditation, and I went to try a class. It was a certainty, a divine experience between my soul, my consciousness, and my ego. It was a truth that manifested itself in every cell of my body. When I practice Qigong, I'm in meditation, giving my body the tools it needs to find its own balance.

'The Doors of Perception & Heaven and Hell: is not a book.
It is a key. It is a crowbar for the mind, a chemical crowbar, a philosophical crowbar, a crowbar made of mescaline and mysticism and the strange, terrifying beauty of a world seen without filters.
Aldous Huxley wrote these two essays in 1954 and 1956, long after Brave New World had made him famous, and they are the most personal, the most vulnerable, and the most radical things he ever wrote. He was not a hippie. He was not a dropout.
He was a sixty-year-old intellectual, a scholar, a man who had spent his life in books and ideas. And then he took a drug and discovered that everything he thought he knew about reality was a lie. This is his report.
The first essay, The Doors of Perception, is the account of a single afternoon. Huxley, curious about the potential of psychedelics for spiritual and therapeutic purposes, swallows four-tenths of a gram of mescaline and sits in his study in Los Angeles, waiting.
What happens next is not a trip in the recreational sense. It is a revelation. The folds of his trousers become a labyrinth of infinite complexity.
A vase of flowers becomes a cathedral of light. A chair becomes the throne of God. Time slows to a crawl. Space expands into infinity. Huxley is not hallucinating.
He is seeing. He is seeing the world as it is, stripped of the filters that the brain normally uses to keep us sane. He calls it "the Mind at Large" the vast, unfiltered consciousness that the brain normally blocks out so that we can function in daily life.
Mescaline, he argues, opens the "reducing valve" of the brain and lets the raw data of existence flood in. And it is beautiful. And it is terrifying. And it is true.
The second essay, Heaven and Hell, expands the argument. Huxley explores the nature of visionary experience across cultures and centuries the paintings of Blake, the architecture of cathedrals, the music of Bach, the ecstasies of saints and mystics.
He argues that human beings have always sought ways to open the doors of perception: through art, through religion, through fasting, through meditation, through drugs.
He examines the paradox of visionary experience: that it is both heavenly and hellish, that it can reveal the divine and the demonic, that it can heal and it can destroy. He does not glorify drugs. He does not prescribe them.
He simply observes that the desire to transcend ordinary consciousness is universal, and that the pursuit of that desire has shaped human culture in ways we do not fully understand.
The title comes from William Blake: "If the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite." Huxley believed that mescaline cleansed the doors. He believed that everyone should have the right to open them.
He believed that the world would be a better place if we could see it as it truly is.

Brief & Bright)

THE MOST SECURE FORTRESS
“Remember that your ruling reason becomes unconquerable when it rallies and relies on itself, so that it won’t do anything contrary to its own will, even if its position is irrational. How much more unconquerable if its judgments are careful and made rationally? Therefore, the mind freed from passions is an impenetrable fortress—a person has no more secure place of refuge for all time.
