there are case where radar will not work, like in this https://sonarprivacy.xyz/blog/#chat-control-explained
In addition if you look at the git history https://github.com/hedwig-corp/bitchat-to-sonar Radar came out after Sonar :)
So I was the first to introduce the bolt12 payments inside a chat app anyway :P

hahahha hope not! it is a bitchat fork with a @npub1wht…r3ec compatible app on top of it so we use white noise protocol to communiate over intenet and we use BLE for discovery and shor distance chats

2026-08-03 19:10:12 UTC

yeah because zaps are broken and I use bolt12 if you pay with a bolt12 compatible wallet everything works

Anyone that will do serious stuff with lightning want bolt12. Today is spark, tomorrow is ark, why exposing all these wired terminology without knowing if there will be there in 2 years instead of having a real common layer that pay from everything to everything.
and now you have sonar that is bolt12 compatible :)

bolt12 is coming to nostr zaps! I prefer be early instead of support broken solution!

2026-08-03 15:23:16 UTC

Naaaa! bolt12 as a standard protocol layer is better! you have also proof of payment and you can do a lot of nice stuff without 'trust me bro', I am sick of broken payment method while now that we have finally something that looks universal

it should just work! otherwise I wasted time!

**Sending money should feel like sending a message**
You open a banking app. You find them, or type an IBAN, or discover you are on different payment apps entirely. Maybe you ask them to send you a request first. Somewhere in there, you copy a long string from one app and paste it into another, and hope you got all of it.

I found out about Lightning Network in the 2018 in a podcast where there was a chain of invoice paid each other on X
Now we are in a new era with nostr and bolt12 and I was wondering if we can do it here!
Lets start from here lno1pgqppdcqp4y2uqq2xcqqzqjwmyc2lvaq60tmzdruh4e3pqa0cdsd00y2h775hhn6673zn7qs5ypq852p3t0xe6w0g572twy5p3yhfm302v24ywzkv3py9dnmllpz44yfqqdgyxvvu3p33wkqqk89czlcvn9y7ng7xaz2vcspuyghwqehvapgwlefkn629wsg5u26z6y2wsr6qk0sgec0z59wavcdthl9pyqzeasx7vryrjufqaev8wr2fe5w5qgqjrrgrnqduvlp6hqpdh7yev0ygsn0j2ffndwcf9thacg3vggzq99y5zs36aydjnmzd9pr5xjkwp0h3kkvwu0rznvhcrnwwgxs0prq
Paid it, post a photo that you pad from a cashu wallet and post your bolt12
If you need a bolt12 compatible mint you can use https://mint.hedwig.sh/
cc @npub12rv…85vg :P hope that you will be the first :P

Yeah the goal of Sonar is giving defaults to use to gain privacy better than telegram and whatsapp but allow enough customization to be reserve the 0 leak! you could also have a relay a day and clean up the persistance of this delay based on kinds

2026-07-26 00:45:34 UTC

- reply

it is using white noise protocol and at the moment the only leaked partnis the nostr event published on the relay but this can be hosted by you if you have something to hide in particular
