I wish I could say I'd had that experience. I had two Pixels, and with both the battery lasted a year. Both had Graphene which I enjoyed. The next phone, a Fairphone 5 with Murena was also excellent, except the only part that isn't user serviceable (the main board) developed a fault. I bought it to try to escape the problems with battery life. Now I am miserably using an iPhone and swearing at it every other day!

You didn't have to go to all that effort to tell me, so it's very much appreciated. Thank you.

I think the problem was I was trying to increase security and managed to edit one of the WAF regular expressions in such a way that it began blocking rather than exempting the social subdomain and behaviour of Mastodon. Simple fix hopefully. Couldn't do it from my phone while I was out.

Interesting. I thought I had fixed this by disabling the challenges before, and bot fight mode is disabled because as you say it causes nothing but problems. Ill look into it further. Thanks for letting me know.

So pretty. I find it funny that we both seem to have had a similar idea about a blurry banner. Yours is better though. Looking forward to seeing how you modify the rest of the UI. Mine's mostly just a re-colour.

I've changed a few basic things but nothing major. I'm not quite on your level for programming! I like the new settings menu. The dot idea interests me but I haven't played around with it yet. I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to UX design. Do you have your own colour scheme?

I've been using it. I like the unified design, but I'm still a little meh on some of the Google material design stuff (mostly the shapes and the over-inflated clock font). Had to turn most of that part off.

I've had two coffees and I'm still making errors. When does it kick in? 😅

There was a Star Trek episode that described politicians as in-fighting opportunists. They really only care about their careers and making money and gaining personal power.

I've noticed a trend where political parties disguise their flyers as newspapers like this. I assume it's so you don't bin it immediately. I don't know why they think tricking me into reading something will engender enough trust to make me vote for them.

About as close as you get to the wilderness here in the UK is camping in a field. If the opportunity ever presents itself to travel and go camping though I will take it!

Super jealous. All my life I've wanted to camp in the wilderness like that. Please share more amazing photos!

That’s an incredibly slippery slope. Companies criticise each other all the time and create alternative solutions as a way of rectifying something they see as broken. If people weren’t critical, and didn’t make alternatives, we would all be using WhatsApp regardless of our ethics. At least this software developer replies and is available on Mastodon to comment. Signal is here for the PR.

I wonder if this will cause a change in trends, with people going back to 'frameless' glasses too thin to house cameras.

This is the second time I've experienced unsubstantiated negative comments from chaos.social. I hope it's not a trend

While I’m aware politicians exaggerate/use hyperbole to extremes at times, it seems we’ve arrived at a point in time where there needs to be accountability for outright lies/misdirection in politics. I think there are enough people who’d still want the top job if there was a threat of sanctions against them personally for not at least ‘trying’ to uphold promises. When they fail: Scapegoating the most vulnerable people is a despicable tactic, and I see it used all the time.
