I think Section 109 of the CLARITY act in the USA would be very beneficial for bitcoin overall as it would help protect access to self-custody by not defining self-custodial blockchain services as money transmitters. This is good for humanity, good for bitcoin, and also good for people in our community who work on self-custodial bitcoin projects.
Consider taking the time to call your representatives and senators to voice your support for this bill, and also amplify the message on social media and with people in your communities.

Overdue post for one of the best hackathons in the Bitcoin space! After attending @npub1dwa…7c52 we became aware of the centralization risks of Bitcoin pool mining. 🧵👇
As community organizers, we felt compelled to empower our local communities to take action and encourage participation in the Bitcoin network.
🚀 Introducing Hash League – a leaderboard ranking #Bitcoin communities by the combined hashrate of their mining pools. Born out of @npub1dwa…7c52 and a desire to decentralize pool mining. Here's how we built it:
⚙️Hash League ranks Bitcoin communities based on the total hashrate of their mining pools. It’s a live leaderboard powered by publicly accessible Stratum data.
📍Community organizers can add their meetups or mining pools via GitHub. Hashrate data is pulled live from public Stratum servers. Check it out and claim your meetup: https://hashleague.atlbitlab.com/
🔧 We built it by launching our own mining pool on an AWS EC2 instance using a public pool setup linked to a meetup. Then we:
– Hooked it into our web app
– Pointed BitAxes miners at our pool
– Built a clean UI showing real-time pool rankings
🔮Next On the roadmap:
– Stratum V2 SRI support
– DATUM Gateway API
– NOSTR integration with FROSTR for pool signature delegation that community organizers can leverage
🌐We're making enhancements before submitting it to the @npub1t8a…56yu hackathon. Feedback is welcome on the GitHub!
@npub1nxy…lnxl and I are honored to have won:
🏆 Most Educational
🎨 Best Design
🥇 Overall 1st Place
🧡 Huge thanks to @npub1e0z…0txy and the amazing panel of judges who made the hackathon possible. We're grateful to have been a part of it!
Let’s see which meetup is not all talk. Go join a pool or create a new one. Show us your proof of work!
