E pluribus unum
Out of many, one
Our greatest strength is when we can work together. The reason it works so well here in America compared to other countries is because we’re a country of immigrants so we have a very high level of diversity.
That’s why our adversaries (China, Russia, mega-corps) are so hell-bent on dividing us and sowing bigotry.

At least in the US, property taxes are levied and collected by local municipalities, not the state.

If it’s old film, it’s probably gonna have some weird color artifacts. So don’t shoot something that you expect to be perfect. This is an awesome opportunity for some abstract or “artistic” shots.

Goodhart’s Law makes a single good metric impossible.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodhart's_law
“When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure."
The only solution is so many different measures (ie different one for each user) that it’s unfeasible for spammers to target every one.

But web pages are often served differently to different visitors. There can be location /personalization variations of exactly the same page. Even to different logged-out, “anonymous” users.
Also, a “page” is more than a single page, there are usually dozens of associated files like css, js, and images. Just saving the html won’t get you very far when you want to look at it again later.

Only interested if they play the exact same version that was released in 1977.

Dude, you can’t put “Mai-tai mix” as an ingredient in your Mai-tai mix. That’s an infinite recursive function.

I could see it on desktop, but I don’t have my wallet on desktop.

Cloudflare introduces “Pay per Crawl”, using HTTP code 402: Payment Required. This their way of trying to limit AI bots from scraping your site and getting content creators paid in the process.
https://blog.cloudflare.com/introducing-pay-per-crawl/
Not a bad idea, but no mention of #ecash as a bearer token. Scrapers have to register on Cloudflare and enter payment information. Totally inefficient and of course KYC.
@npub12rv…85vg you need to explain to them how this should really work.

There’s so much music being created now that it’s too much effort to wade through the crap to find the good stuff. 40-year-old music is mostly good stuff because the crap has largely been filtered out by time.

People might say that they want “true” privacy, but in reality they are just fine with assumed privacy. Discord? Slack? Telegram? Facebook? Twitter DMs? They’re not actually private, even though people think they are.

I got the Intex 10-foot pool with the aluminum frame back in 2020 when all the public pools were closed for Covid. We’ve used it for five summers and it has held up. Haven’t yet put it up this summer but I will. It does sometimes get small leaks, but they’re easy to patch with the adhesive water-proof patches. I drain it, dry it, and pack it up every winter.
Pro tip: put down a layer of 1” foam interlocking tiles (find them at sporting goods stores or online) then on top of that put down a thick tarp. THEN put the pool on top of that. It will protect the bottom from harm and it’ll feel nice and padded when you’re in it.

I was thinking about a way this could work. If the relay already handles NIP-09 deletions, it should keep the kind 5 notes around and use them as a filter just in case one of those notes happens to be sent to that relay in the future.
So, a relay also has an npub. So it should accept any kind-5 published by the relay’s npub regardless of the author of the offending note.

It’s three weeks from today, May 25, the anniversary of the day #starwars was released in the theaters.

I’m looking for a #nostr relay implementation that has an admin ui for moderation.
Also, just removing a note from the database isn’t enough. Because it can just be sent again. The moderation system needs to remember the note id so that if it’s ever sent to the relay again, it’s not saved.
Bonus points if it has a way to sort by number of “reports” a note has.

There’s a fan edit out there on the interwebs called “The Bilbo Edition”. They basically cut it down to one-movie length. It’s actually watchable.
