Jonathan Bier himself admitted that he and other suitcoiners had backroom dealings with miners to accept BIP148 in 2017, and reject BIP110 in 2026.
Make of that what you will. UASF was never the real story. Bitcoin is dead because mining is centralised.

The hope is that when human problems manifest into a crisis, Bitcoin holds it’s properties by the efforts and defence of the 2.5% of the world’s population that never compromises.

Bitcoin has a mining centralisation problem, and no one has a solution to it.
BIP110 side is taking action, albeit extreme and seemingly reckless.
Anti-BIP110 has no solution, and simply just apathetic to the problem.

@nprofile…2n02 Sorry to bring the flak to you.
I hope you’re right, that it’s just not the right path (or time)
To me, I could see that BIP110 is more of a diagnosis on where control lies in Bitcoin. The biggest problem to tackle is to decentralise mining. The best way for that is to make it more profitable for miners to mine of Datum and StratumV2.
Bob Burnett mentioned couple of times that it is a lot more profitable than officially stated. If that is true, what is holding back hashers to point their hash to Datum/StratumV2? And what are the ways to make that change happen?

As much as I hate it, I really need @nprofile…2n02's thoughts on what happened and the current state of Bitcoin.
I wish I could be confident and satisfied with my own views, but alas Booth’s perspective is just more of a signal than any other’s.

I don’t think we should take a Mossad agent’s words at face value.
@nprofile…8c7r's simple analysis shows the opposite of the power structure. You don’t fly to your subordinate’s country to ask for help.

Also, who can guarantee that a new cleaner perfect version of Bitcoin, will not have the same mining dynamic as we have now? With specialised hashers that don’t run their own nodes, pointing their hash power to centralised Pools for consistent fiat payouts?

Good points, but I have some disagreements.
I think the fundamental assumption I have with CoreCoin is that it could still be salvageable as long as there isn’t any easily readable abhorrent content put on it. Even if a new chain emerges from scratch and is cleaner than Corecoin, the stickiness of the history of Corecoin is not to be underestimated. As long as Corecoin remains possible to be decentralised after this point of centralisation, it could still survive and win out in the long run.
I’m still new to Bitcoin, and I have a lot to learn, from what I know at this moment, is that the main crux of the issue is that Mining pools are not even hashing. Hashers are just renting their hardware to these pools. Is there a way for us to get these hashers around the world to create their own blocks?

2026-08-08 23:13:08 UTC

I still see a potential way to salvage corechain in the future
One main problem contributing to mining centralisation is hashers are not miners.
Perhaps the most important people to orange pill right now are actually the fiat minded hashers mining for pools that extract 20-30% of their rewards for the predictability of consistent payouts.
If hashers are actual bitcoiners, running their own nodes, and creating their own templates, they would be more involved in discussions on bitcoin’s protocol debates.

@nprofile…da0v What are the chances that all the pools got a tap on the shoulder by their own governments to ignore BIP110 because they want Bitcoin to fail?
Bitcoin’s goal is separation of money and state, and not a single state in the world right now is going to be willing to let go of that control
What if?…
I hope it doesn’t have to come to the PoW hardfork. Bip110coin might suffer for a lonnnnng time before Fabiancoin dies.
Even if Bip110coin flips Fabiancoin in the future, how do we endure Bip110coin doesn’t run into the same issue as Fabiancoin did? How do we force every hasher to use DATUM/STRATUMv2 to create their own blocks instead of pushing it to FPPS pools?
