Some years ago, #android was fun.
It was kind of retro, hardware specs were low, you needed to code carefully making sure your code runs on a 320x240 pixels screen.
You simply installed your apps from the sd card or any webpage.
Now, it is no fun anymore. With every new version, #google imposes more and more restrictions that break sane apps.
It pushes useless #ui changes, just to make sure every #android version looks different & fancy.
It moves more and more code from the system core to their libs.
No, it ain't fun anymore.
Google closes #android.
But you know what?
I don't need to code for #android! I don't need #dev #verification! I simply can write #multiplatform apps on #linux. There are dozens of wonderful frameworks and #ides available!
Fun moved elsewhere.

since #android is no longer free but becomes a closed ecosystem, I tried coding #apps using #openjfx on #linux .
You need to check the alternatives, you know.
Coming from #android coding in #java, #openjfx is even more powerful and feature-rich, while it is surprisingly fast.
The only downside is that you find less examples online.
Up to now, it is a very promising alternative, and most importantly, coding with it is fun. No need to mess with g***les new ideas at every version update.
And I guess #alpinelinux should have a #jre, so everything you code with #openjfx should be somehow available for #postmarketos .

done, I have set the language level of the toolchain to 21 in build.gradle:
java {
toolchain {
languageVersion.set(JavaLanguageVersion.of(21))
}
}
I hope this will do the trick and the next version will be built.

@npub12zq…fc5r
For some reason, the #fdroid bot seems not to recognize the latest #imagepipe release.
I triple-checked everything: tag is ok, also version in build.gradle is increased.
Any ideas?

20 printed and signed letters are also in their envelopes. They will be sent tomorrow, have to go to the local post office to get the stamps necessary for Brussels/Belgium.

Ja, macht es per Brief. Das beeindruckt.
Bitte.
Die Europäische Kommission könnt Ihr in jeder EU-Sprache anschreiben, auch auf Deutsch.
