Even though I said what I said above, that's "on one hand".

For the other hand, I played NFS: Hot Persuit (latest one), but, most of my play time with it is just driving with my fav car in it, listening to music and enjoying the scenary. No racing or dealing with polic, just chilling.

With that said, I did discover this game just today called Slow Roads, played its demo, and really enjoyed it / delivers on a similar experience. If I had to describe it for myself, I'd say it's Dear Esther's driving game.

It's the whole DMs thing and now the group chat thing. Peeps still figuring that out, there are like 3-5 DMs (maybe i'll bring along another one x3), and 5 or more group chat things.

DEN at the moment is pretty much public aside from the message itself, though working on a private layer that hides creator, members, and activity, from the public, without complicating its current simplicity that much, however, it only works if you have your nsec inside den, or using a signer with a new capability it needs to make it work.

Basically, the combo should be: Highest freedom, highest practicality (simplicity, ease of use, good moderation, etc), private enough.

The more you want to increase the privacy benefit, the more you'll decrease the other two. If one can increase privacy without affecting the other two, or at least not much, go for it.

Thoughts on GTA 6 game trailer, in comparison to GTA 5 game trailer released back in the day, assuming it was release today with the same graphical quality:

If I watched both, i would definitely want to play 5 rather than 6.

That's the gist.

If I had to criticise something from 6, assuming it's a representation of what's to come, then:
Jason as a character is low quality/bland, where I thought Franklin from 5 was boring, Jason seems to take the cake here. The dynamic between the two characters is bland if not bad, and this is definitely more so a Lucia game not a Lucia and Jason game, gameplay seems ok / maybe worse than 5, and every character aside from the two main characters seem vastly more interesting than them.

One positive, in comparison, that I got out of it is the robbery/crime/police system might be more fun, same with car jacking, and maybe car maitenence (assuming they handle it well).

All of this is thoughts from the trailer, so we'll see how the game is on release, but I don't think my assumptions will be wrong (happy if i end up being wrong tho, ofc).

I think you reached the realized what I was trying to convey before, and yea that's why you should have one kind for one usecase that makes sense for that use case.

What I'd recommend is to pick a new kind number for games, and keep 31142 for mods since that was its initial use case. Regarding what number, that's for you to decided, though a heads up: i put 31143 the kind for game/mod jams, and will basically use the kinds from 31140 to 31149 the game related purposes, so far only two was constructed for it, not sure what i'll use what for games, probably 31141 or 31140, and the rest will be related to other types for game use cases as well.

However, you can of course continue using whatever kind number you desire, even if it is being used for other things, not advisable, but you can, as that's just the nature of nostr and nobody can stop you from doing it and others would just have to deal with it somehow.

By the way, regarding getting two different types of posts from using one kind, you can do that, you just need to have a single-letter tag in the event to differentiate between what a mod is and what a game is or what something else is, where you'd be able to filter-query them based on the value of that single-letter tag.

ok, seems like all went well with den chat release-release, now i'll just do fixes and improvements and new features every now and then, as i now put some time re-working DNN (cleaning it up from top to bottom, simplifying everything, making it clearer, and have a better node, better docs, etc. It's a good thing nobody used it aside from me for now xD), and once all of that done, it'd be ready for the bitcoin height 1mil (and hopefully by then things would settle about the state of bitcoin), then I'd confidently start hitting up browsers to implement it (alongside working on and releasing a lightweight forked browser that has its reference implementation for people to use in case no browser adds it for whatever reason).

Aye, that audience, small but decent, was built by a lot of sleepless nights doing grunt-work marketing basically x3, for the project called DEG Mods (game mods published on nostr), and specifically targeting the gamer and weeb audience (more so on the gamer front), that's why i'm also building a steam/gog/itch alt on nostr.

Regarding growing the ecosystem, yea that's why i'm focusing on these audiences, an audience that bring in a lot of activity wherever they go, and that's also why I added a social page that has kind 1 section (short-form posts), kind 30023 (long form), forums (the depricated one that i didn't see why it was depricated, it has a legit use-case, i think it's nip72, and a more freer version of it), public chat (basically chaos), and more, all so that it would increase activity throughout nostr. This mindset with those decisions/designs is also there on DEG Mods (and DEGA whenever it gets built/released).

So hopefully these projects are doing that, or at least will do that. Would love to follow more people on here that are aligned with my entertainment interests and have more fun =3

Aye, it seems like den chat was released around a month prior to the announcement of the concord prototcol (and i noticed concord a month ago), and, and yea from what i looked into, it seems like we concord and nip-chat has basically the same north-star, but took different decisions to get there.

Regarding convergance, i'm not sure (actually not sure), as it seems like the differences is on the privacy aspect (concord wins there. nip-chat just does simple encryption of the content and pretty much all metadata is public, that was a deliberate decision as i didn't want to add complications to the systems and honest about the metadata leaks), and the second difference is how someone is part of a group and scaleability (i think during my planning phase, i reached where concord was regarding encryption and secrets delivery, however, i was trying to push for massive scale if possible (millions, yet to be tested of course) and noticed that won't nessarily do well with what i reached at the time regarding normally sharing a secret each time it gets updated, and didn't want to do MLS as that's too heavy and complicated, but found out about LKH and it seems like that was the sweetspot to handle everything at scale). There are more differences, but those two seem like the biggest differences.

Might have misunderstood things, totally possible.

If convergance somehow happens, nice, but if not, i don't think there'd be a problem, nip-chat/denchat can be view as the general type of event-based chat protocol, where concord/armada can be viewed as the more private focused event-based chat protocol, and learn from each other the pros and cons as they happen. I'd imagine the options would be nip-chat-denchat (general) / concord-armada (private) / mls-marmoot (snowden).

I'm using concord as well btw, on vector, chattin every now and then.

It seems like there's more malware events happening over at Steam and others.
I don't have a solution to this, probably no one does, however, Valve/Steam (as an example) is a security bottleneck and a single point of failure, that's why on my end, on DEGA, I planned out a system where it makes it so that there would be a decentralized marketplace of security audits and would be clearly visible for each and every build of a game, handled by both players and/or hired firms.

Games/builds that don't have reviews would have a clear warning to all customers/users.

I think the conclusion in all of this is that definitions (what is bitcoin) have changed, and being clear on those definitions with what Bitcoin is will help things (in a bitter sense? sure, but better than being in a messy state).

For example, considering what I know so far, from what bitcoin was at the start to how it evolved and what it is now, it's definition to me has changed from "A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" to something like "A Managed Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash and File-Storage System".

If something else comes along that gets developed in a way that retains the original definition as closely as possible, then it'll exist and people will use it. Will it be as popular? Probably not. Will it be as resiliant with its hashing power? Probably not. And many will think of it as a shame that is the case, and maybe because of that it will never be trully successful in terms of resisting attacks, but i'd imagine that the conclusion many will have there is "better than nothing, and we'll keep trying" all the while still making use of current Bitcoin for whatever their needs are, like any other crypto.

Another thing what'll happen is that many will try to change bitcoin back to its original definition, but probably that won't happen because of short-term financial incentives/benefits. At least not until something bad happens where then most would start running to fix things. I guess we'll see what happens.

On my end? I'm just one dude and sure i'll be a part of an attempt to restore bitcoin to its original definition, and if it works out great, if not then oh well, and i'll just see bitcoin in its now new definition, that's it, as well as use whatever new thing that pops up that holds that old definition if it becomes viable. In other words, like with Ethereum or other crypto, i will *utilize* current-bitcoin, and i will utilize and *support* old-defined-bitcoin, whatever it may be. I think that's a good approach in the current state of things. To persue ideals but not to reject reality.

If you're wondering how the NBMS works:
1. Select the participants, ECDH with each, gets sorted, add a domain seperator (spec definied), and an index (potential future use to have more wallet constructions for the same people, from the same initiator/creator), all of that gets hashed and we get a result.
2. That hash is used as an input to created a keypair, let's call it the group npub
3. An invite, via nip17 dm, is sent to the participants, that contains the group npub and the hash
4. Each accepts which sends a accept-message to that npub
5. The app then generates a new hash from their nsec, the group hash as salt, and domain seperator, which would then be used to derive a 24 seed word, and grabs the xpub from it and shares that to the group. This is done for each member
6. Assuming all had their group-specific xpubs shared, multiple multisig wallets are created (if it was 3 people total, then a 1-of-3, 2-of-3, 3-of-3 are created)
7. Start receiving and sending from these wallets in these nice UX flows in chat (speaking of chat, they are self-DMs, meaning the group npub has itself as the author and recepient, with the kind 14 inside it being from actual sender. Con: any participant can delete those messages. Counter: each send to the group also sends a copy to oneself, specifically a self-send to another derived keypair based on a participant's nsec+groupHash, and a check+restore process happens in case of misconduct)

Side note 1:
The idea to 'simplify' bitcoin multisig came about out of frustration between myself, a person-a, and person-b, as we were conducting transactions. Not sure who thought what first but basically we all thought 'this should be waaay easier than it is right now and nobody is doing it, and probably nostr would help make that a reality'. However, funnily enough, niether person-b (well, yet to be seen) nor I did this in a way where it's for bitcoiners in a sense of adding whatever xpub you want under your npub, and we basically wen't with our own different directions that is not user-decision first / bitcoin first, where I went with a heavy nostr-first approach rather than just having it as a transport, and the other person... well i can't disclose their direction. I had the option to import an xpub, but decided to remove it. If anyone feels like doing this how bitcoiners expect it, but with all the nice UX flows as seen in the video, you can chat it up with me (and if so worth reading the second note below).

Side note 2:
I'll have this in the next denos update, but also locked away like the rest, and all of which will now also have a 'enter password to toggle on' which will most likely be just 'denos'. I decided I don't, or rather can't, put enough time and effort to maintain all of these systems (ecash, nostr bitcoin multisig, nostr silent payments) properly, so that's why the password thing (maybe even later to completely remove all of them outright... maybe). Basically I'm sunsetting these things on DENOS. Too much on my plate to worry about maintaining all of these things. If someone else down the line is interested in doing any of these, I'm happy to consult.

Yea if you want to have everything in one event then yea that'd be the way to go, though i'd imagine if you do want to go that route, it'll probably be difficult for your client to do a clean seperation of types when you query relays, since the tag isn't a single-letter tag but a full word, meaning if you have a page called /games, then the client will fetch games and mods alike and the client will have to locally filter between games and mods to just show games (same on the /mods side)

On my end I'll keep the title and i think i won't have a one-letter tag for a game's name in the event, as it won't be helpful in querying a relay unless the user does an exact match of a game's name.

Regarding games being referenced by a mod or a mod being referenced by a game, the a tag would be used for referencing, potentially with a second value in it to indicate that it's a game or a mod.

My attempt at a discord/ts/element/slack alt, built on nostr, event/blossom-based (not relay-based), with group encryption based on LKH, voice/video/stream based on Cloudflare (simple but centralized, free 10gb/month bandwidth) and Livekit (self-host but needs more effort and running cost) and both are encrypted, and there's spatial audio mode (i wanted this for a years).

Notes:
Is this a good idea with how it's built? Who knows let's see.
Scaleable to millions? I tried to make it that way so fingers crossed.
Is it actually any good to use? Hopefully. Give it a shot tell me what you think
Are there bugs? Probably ya (speaking of, i fixed those in the video x3)
Web and Windows version works, Linux .deb and AppImage (on ZorinOS) seems to work, didn't try others.

Also I don't think I can add stuff in other chains nessarily?

If you're talking about Bitcoin Silent Payments but without scanning because it'd use nostr, and the demo was on Sparrow wallet, then we're thinking of the same project, however, what I'll be doing is different, where instead of having the user utilize Bitcoin SP by adding/attatching it to their nostr address with an event, I wouldn't utilize Bitcoin SP at all, the nostr nPub is itself the static address (so no setup at all), and because of that, the Silent Payment idea would also be extended to other compatible chains (silent shitcoin transactions).

End result?:
New user generates a nostr key, does nothing, can receive bitcoin and shitcoins, on-chain, silently.

Aye, i got docs written for them all, but things break, get fixed, small philosophy/design changes here and there, so things, docs wise, defininately needs updating first, after all of these kind of stabalize, then i'd do one projects map of those things are interconnected with each other as you said (for myself and others to get a grasp of things).

Maybe. What I did for my own upcoming discord-alt client, if you look the other replies for more details, is basically keep a record of the people that have messaged you in a seperate event, and it grows each time (up to 750 people) to keep track of people that have messaged you, and each time you load in the app, it loads that list first (so your DM list gets populated right off the bat), then aside from having a normal fetch/subscription of getting the latest DM messages, it also slowly checks/fetches the last 10 events from each person on that list.

This is a best-effort take I can think of to help reduce this issue.

Video host: I think there are a couple already like youtube, and they're fine, but because video hosting and stream is very costly so decentralization for it is difficult, for me I'd want to do it in a way where the focus is on having 'sources' rather than a good UX drag and drop to upload (what i mean is the creator would upload to youtube, dailymotion, vimeo, blossom/mp4, other/mp4, etc, and link them all in a video post on nostr and people can switch between sources). The focus is on the account, the posts, and less so the sources as that can always be updated/fixed by the creator (or even by fans).

There'll be two systems, one that's known now by nostr devs (and will not impose a centralized list of who owns what 'name', that's just silly, everyoe will have a non-human-readable address as their subforum), so one can have their own moderated forum, and one that's under a human-readable name that isn't controlled by anyone.

I already did this but as a public chat (not using the standard known one since that's also a created-by-someone thing) in my discord alt i'm building, just write a word and post under it. Chaos? Yes, but that's why you add toggles (some default off, some default on, and the user can switch), basic filters, web of trust, proof of work, financial barriers, more stuff that i'd add that i haven't thought of yet probably.

Regarding PPs wanting to interfere, they'll try, but they won't be able to stop it, because it'll be a normal flow with their system, as in a normal company setting up a payment gateway for their own accounts. There won't be a middleman (like steam/gog) to centrally attack, and there's no special system, it's just nostr in the background managing this flow that's it.

With that said / meaning, if visa/mastercard/etc come to me and say 'stop selling these set of games or we'll freeze your account', my response would be 'i'm not selling it, talk to the seller, i'm just a browser not a middleman' and in case they do unjustly freeze my account, it would not affect any seller, unlike all other platforms which would result in their instantly failure and bankrupcy. So they have to go after each individual seller to stop the sale of a single product, and even if they do, the seller would simply swap to a different payment system and that'd be that.
