It's #movie night on the farm. Tonight, to remind us of the dangers of giving computers too much power:

Colossus: The Forbin Project 1970

It came out the very year I started writing code!

The acting is first rate, mostly from largely unknown players; the story about man's doom by giving too much control over his life to computers is riveting.

Watch it with a friend, then disconnect your Alexa, Google, Sira and other computer helpers and live free!

Giant loss today with the passing of Dolly Parton.. As a boomer, and working in radio and television my entire adult life, her music and philanthropy were always front and center, everywhere you turned.

In other sadness my next door neighbor's 21 year old miniature poodle passed away minutes ago as well. He's right now burying that little pup in his back yard under an old oak tree. 🐩 💔

Happy he's doing better!

We spent 9 hours today cleaning up the donkey pen. Removed a huge mess of stink vines that were well grown into the entire 100 meter fence line! Wife hurts all over!

Rose seems to think the hay on the ground tastes better than the hay in her bucket.

Just had a tree guy here to give me a price for removing 3 large trees that are dead, in the back pasture where I'll fence in a spot for the #donkeys

I figure when it's all done and dusted it will cost about $5000 to have everything ready for them. (ouch!)

Spent much of the day surveying the farm for a good place to build the donkey pen and shelter. Transit used to find the highest bit of land to build the shelter so it doesn't flood during heavy rains.

Going to need to run at least 75m of water line and 100m of power so I can microwave the donkey paddock back to the server room to include it in our live stream. #DIY #donkey

Being able to enjoy simple things like that is so important. We have both been blessed with best friends for life. We fall asleep and wake up the next morning in each other's arms, are happy just sitting on our front porch watching the world go by. Never a harsh word between us. I'm so happy for you both that you have that too!
