THAT'S why it was like that.
When I hear "flash flood" I think of massive amounts of rain. But this started as an avalanche sliding into a lake basically emptying the lake that then followed the creek/river path to obliterate everything.
When we talk about glaciers melting, it's always accompanied by a visual of a big chunk of ice falling into the ocean.
I've never seen it shown as a glacier go down as an avalanche into a lake.

(yesterday)
OTD (Jan 26) in 1700, a MASSIVE earthquake hit the West Coast (~9.0) that caused forests to sink into the ocean. No written record, only seemingly unbelievable stories from Indigenous tribes
It caused a huge tsunami that reached Japan 10 hrs later & even 300+ yrs ago, Japan kept detailed records of tsunamis, so over years of research in the 1990's, geologists put together the timeline w/ the exact date of the earthquake.
The Big One™ will happen again

This I agree with. Before, after, etc.
Shame, really... that the Brahman Indian assholes that run Redmond can't go through the scrutiny of immigration officials and be sent packing. Back home. Because that is what immigration officials used to do before this mess.
Y'all just settle down, would ya?
It's obvious y'0all don't follow my small NOR my non-stop attack of what ICE has been doing.
I knew it would get blown out of proportion. Thanks for participating.

It is relevant. Indians in the Bay area are apparently not these Brahman assholes. 🤷‍♀️ Redmond is different.
My comment was not to you.
From experience.
And again. If ICE were doing their job properly, (that isn't a statement for it against their existence. They exist at this point and should be doing their job not *waves arms around* this)..

I didn't say I think ICE should round them all up and send them to a camp FFS, I said it's a shame they aren't treating ALL brown people equally if that's their deal.
Which scares the everliving shit out of me, but I can step back and see the LOGIC that is blatantly missing instead of reacting emotionally.

Nice way to twist my words. Do not.
1) I have no idea what years encompass "grew up in", nor how old you are now or if you're still in Redmond, when you left, etc etc, so saying that holds no meaning to me. 🤷‍♀️
2) If ICE is looking for brown people, why are they NOT picking up Indians? They get a special pass? Why? Do you think they are all here legitimately?
Do some research on the companies in India they PAY to get them hired here in not so legitimate ways.
...

2026-01-21 18:43:50 UTC

Sure. I despise the Brahman Indians who live and work in Microsoftland.
They are arrogant assholes who act like they own the town. They let their male children do whatever the fuck they want while keeping their girls in line. It's gross. Their women indignantly spit out "Do you know who my husband is??" like it means something (it doesn't) if you say something they don't like (not racist things but simple things like "the line for coffee is behind me").
Caste is gross.

But yeah I have yet to hear of them picking up any Indians in Redmond. Shame really...

2026-01-20 02:23:46 UTC

Oh just FYI, ICE is now going door to door in Redmond WA asking for papers.

UPDATE:
The Whipple Federal Building in Minnesota where ICE detainees are being held, has now STOPPED allowing attorneys into the building in order to meet with clients who are non-citizens.
Not the "one will be provided for you" but attorneys PAID by families, etc.
NOTE: Non-citizens have a Constitutional guarantee to due process and access to an attorney. It is well-established law, 5th Amendment, 6th Amendment, & decades of Supreme Court Jurisprudence.

ICE shot a woman in the face, killing her.
Mayor Jacob Frey: "They are already trying to spin this as an action of self defense. Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly that is bullshit."
A resident who witnessed it said the woman was trying to turn her car around, and the ICE agent was in front of her car, pulled out a gun and "reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times"

Oh wow, I can't ever remember not knowing. Every family is different, which makes this whole thing ridiculous. Hell, I'm hearing that kids these days don't even know their own full birthday (including year) or home address to put on a job application. Good thing they're already in the US and not trying to travel here. /s

2025-12-12 07:11:27 UTC

There are plans to require applicants of travelers to the US to provide a long list of personal data including:
✓ social media
✓email addresses from the last 10 YEARS
✓ all of this data:
• names
• birth dates
• places of residence
• birthplaces
of
• parents
• spouses
• siblings
• children
So if your close relatives travel, they would have to give up YOUR personal info, including where you live.
But everyone is focusing on the social media part.
Yeah, ok.

Instructions to Democrat politicians on how to "Take the win over #Covid"
1) Declare the crisis phase of COVID over & push for feeling & acting more normal.
2) Recognize that people are "worn out" & feeling real harm from the years-
long restrictions & *take their side*

The Great Chicago Fire
🔥🐄 Bessie, did you do this??
THE FACTS:
✅ The Chicago fire is not the worst in U.S. history. It wasn't even the worst in that day.
✅ The same evening at the SAME TIME, a fire erupted in Peshtigo, WI, over 200 miles north of Chicago.
**How fast can 🐄 run anyway?? We all learned it this way: It was "Mrs. O'Leary's cow".**
**But WAIT! There's more!**
✅ Across Lake Michigan, a THIRD FIRE simultaneously erupted & burned for over a month.

STORY I SEE:
Victoria's Secret takes down US website after 'security incident' 3 days ago
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwy6l5573jyo
STORY I WANT TO SEE MORE OF:
Victoria's Secret rolls back to previous night's backup, gets back to the business of selling frilly things, telling ransomwarers there will be no payoff and to fuck right off.

Bruce Schneier testified at a hearing yesterday titled "The Federal Government in the Age of Artificial Intelligence"
"You all need to assume that our adversaries have copies of *all the data* DOGE has exfiltrated and have established access into *all the networks* that DOGE has removed security controls from.
And your data can be used against you..."

Elsa??
The FDA has it's own "#AI" and it's named "Elsa".
We're all going to die.
Elsa is speeding up clinical protocol reviews and scientific evaluations, along with finding "high-priority inspection targets."

Every single year this throws me.
I open Keepass on my birthday and the first thing I see is this and think oh wow, they have a birthday thing that... oh. Wait. It's the dev's birthday, that's not because of mine.
🤣 🤦‍♀️

YES, we don't all want the same damn thing. I want the "niche" item before I even know what it is, doesn't everybody?
I have a pretty hefty a/c slash heater neckband, so the Don't neckband would have to literally be a fairweather device 🤣
Great review and yay for spending more time here and less *there*!

I'm down EQ rabbit hole.
So here's the deal.
If the ground starts shaking, the second you realize it's an #earthquake, say "Earthquake!"
Sounds dumb but there's a few moments or more, depending, of confusion, denial, realization.. time wasted. But hearing the word, cuts that time so you can act.
If you're the one who said it, you probably know what to do, so do it AND say it. "Get down, cover your head, under the table, hang on", etc.
Authoritative voice = less panic, even for yourself

Wanna know why Gen X is always mad? Because they had to replace their record collections with a tape collection that they had to replace with a CD collection that they had to replace with an MP3 collection, and now they need a subscription to listen to #music.

Why don't you say what the minimum wage was in 1978?
And the tipped minimum wage in 1978.
You've given nothing (that means ZERO) to compare.
Minimum wage in 1978 was $2.65. That's an increase of 170%.
Tipped minimum wage in 1978 was $1.33. That's an increase of 60%.
STILL, not even close to the 1,085% for CEOs.

Oh that's a lot of words that... Ok, maybe in a corporate office situation that works but I just stop. They usually keep talking and wonder why I don't respond. I'll not talk for days! Yeah I'll cut off my nose to spite my face. And I AM fond of the last word but sometimes it's the only word because I let people go on and then when they have it out of their system, they're less likely to interrupt me when I talk. Except to advise me if the last word.
Bah.
