Played a beautiful gig last night in a picturesque village called Flore just north of London.
After the show, the organizer said 'I have a gift for you', he rushed home and brought back a Fylde guitar he said he's had since 1979. He wanted me to have the guitar. I couldn't believe it, I told him I couldn't accept it, but he insisted I took and used it on my tours. I feel so lucky, Fylde guitars are now some of the most sought after acoustic guitars in the world! Going to take it back to the Fylde workshop to get it fixed up, but wow, wasn't expecting that. The kindness of strangers. 🧡

Yeah, 500 CDs and 500 vinyl. Would love to build a home studio in the future. Need to get other players in recording with me though. It gets expensive real quick, most listeners don't realize. If you have all the gear and can produce and play everything, that's the best situation!

Feels like the last couple of months have been a blur. Covering the length of the UK many times playing shows in theatres, arts centres and dive bars, you name it. Hitting 30 this last year got me thinking it's time for a change of scene. Over the past few years I've been increasingly disillusioned by the path the UK is taking and I realized whenever I traveled and returned, I instantly wanted to board the next plane outta there. When looking where to move, the Isle of Man kept coming up as a strong contender among the possibilities. When I'm touring, most of the time is spent in my car, in traffic, sometimes several hours drive away. Late nights, long drives, hotel rooms, sounds rock and roll in your 20's. But now when I'm not touring, a quiet countryside walk or days fishing sounds ideal 😅
Isle of Man, feels like the perfect base and oasis I can retreat to from the chaos of life. I can't wait to start discovering the place!
The bulk of my work will still be in the UK playing gigs and I will be checking in on family and friends whenever I can, but I wanted this next decade look different from the last by making a new start. Here's to the next chapter! 🇮🇲
Ps, I'm sorting the final details for my second album. It will include some household names in the country music world and if I can pull it all together, it will be truly epic! More on that soon...
