Not many manufacturers of industrial grade SD’s, but don’t trust, verify—check the specs and reviews. For all other uses I swear by Samsung SDs, but avoid Sandisk SDs. As another commenter mentioned refresh your backups every couple years, I’d say even if using high quality media—great interval to status check current technology. I have to fight my “set it and forget it” tendency.

Not dumb, it’s part utility and part economics on our part. Many data center builds resemble prisons and are located similar to where prisons would be. Considerations would include not mainly energy costs but proximity, available manpower and minimal transportation costs. A is A.
Don’t think for a Jew York minute this was part of the SitAn. Our (il)legal system is fully integrated law, cops, courts and our prisons are privatized and predictably (controllably) profitable!
Besides, you don’t want—and we don’t want Canada to serve (or to be available!) as America’s Siberia.

Using AI as adults is one thing, we (hopefully) have been educated (?!) and have a cognitive foundation. Kids today are another story. Without much of a cognitive foundation how could they possibly be asking the right questions to refine and qualify AI outputs? In this early stage of AI (of unknown length), they’ll filling their heads with mishmash, without the skills to relearn and soon will be sounding James Joyce!
There is going to be a gap of intelligence of yet unknown length in tomorrow’s workforce. As bad as a couple decades of “woke” has been, the coming (my last few thank god) will be exponentially worse. I’m not worried though personally, reveling in my ability to see and process the world as it is from the nosebleed section of bleachers I’m building on the back of my property. 😎

Sucks being a target for small minded people when you demonstrate what’s possible. I grew up believing people were basically good and would genuinely admire and aspire to the accomplished. Now grown I’ve been disappointed by far too many people to still hold that belief. I was a pump jockey at a Mobil station in ‘73 when gas prices reached and exceeded $1/gal. The mechanical pumps topped out at .99, so the owner had us get “1” mail box stickers and set the pump price to just the cents in excess of $1. First, I don’t know the specifics of your school, but I know Texas. Consider these possibilities until you have time to verify facts:
-2nd grade teacher may have resigned because teaching standards are being adopted
-the kids hate going to school this year because it’s no longer an all day playground run by them
-the superintendent is a conservative, doesn’t have purple hair, piercings or tats
-it’s being run like the military, where discipline, order and respect (of adults!) aren’t optional
-your “kids” say they’re not learning anything new because there isn’t anything “new” worth learning at that stage, they must learn basic skills
-the “rotten” food they’re provided for lunch isn’t highly processed fat and sugar laden poison
-as a working mom you possibly should be thrilled your “kids” will grow to be contributors to society, rather than “goats” (I’m not implying “greatest of all time” GOAT)
As a working mom … ask yourself why MUST you work rather than having the option of personally raising your birthlings? Could it be because of how children have been “educated” for the last fifty years? Just sayin’.

It’s time to put the brakes on rapid and rampant development of “new” for “wow” capture of market attention and focus on rebuilding confidence. Bitcoiners are widely feeling punch drunk and it’s not a good look for healthy expansion.
Bitcoin hardware and software is still in its early industry development and nearly parallels the auto industry, everyone wants in and to get rich. In those days many people were injured because of the products (as opposed to today where it’s the drivers). Cars became amazing but manufacturers have now come full circle and are pursuing rapid and rampant development of “new” for “wow” capture of market attention—with little value added. Hopefully Bitcoin “vehicle” builders learn from history.

Rare is the animal that bites the (overbearing!) hand that feeds it. The upside of all of this is many (most?) Bitcoiners are FAR better informed moving forward.
P.S. I REALLY like the “bearer asset” characteristic of “OpenDime.”

From a business perspective with NVKs recent CF, and that COINKITE appears to be his only pony, I think he’d bust his ass to not lose it. Just applying basic human nature. Much easier to salvage than start fresh (with a compromised reputation). And yes, I like and hope to continue using a range of COINKITE products. Of course if all you want is a wallet, have at it, plenty of scrambling opportunists out there. Hope you can find the SURE thing! 😉

Agreed, Bitcoin can be all consuming for a while but then you move on to living or it’s pointless. For those who have nothing to move on to, I can think of worse foci than Bitcoin for sure!
