Human rights' are a fine thing, but how can we make ourselves sure that our rights do not expand at the expense of the rights of others. A society with unlimited rights is incapable of standing to adversity. If we do not wish to be ruled by a coercive authority, then each of us must rein himself in… A stable society is achieved not by balancing opposing forces but by conscious self-limitation: by the principle that we are always duty-bound to defer to the sense of moral justice.

`Here is why you have become poorer over the last 5 years... and nobody told you.`
The silent culprit is monetary inflation. While the number on your debit card remains the same or grows slowly, the purchasing power of every single dollar has been eroded by unprecedented monetary expansion. It is not that you have less money; it is that your money is worth less, turning your savings into a leaking bucket.
In this scenario of programmed devaluation, Bitcoin emerges as the only mathematically certain sanctuary, the digital gold that shields the value of your labor from the whims of central banks.

Nostr is not really a relay network
Many people describe Nostr as a decentralized network in which relays share data with one another. In reality, the protocol does not require any synchronization mechanism between relays: if you publish to Relay A, you cannot assume that the content also exists on Relay B.
Resilience therefore comes from replication performed by the client, not from a true P2P network of relays. If your client publishes to only a few relays, your “freedom from the platform” can simply become dependence on those few servers. Nostr’s decentralization is mainly a property of its identity model and relay choice—not an automatic guarantee that your data will remain available.

The strategy is no longer a weapon wielded from above, but a virus replicating within the connective tissue of our social structures themselves. Contemporary "divide et impera" doesn't need a Caesar to draw borders; it is self-sustaining, fueled by the very architecture of our digital squares, where the algorithm merely amplifies our innate tribal reflexes. The resulting chaos is not an incidental byproduct but the final output of a system that has learned to profit from our inability to sustain a complex gaze. The real stake is no longer the conquest of power, but the management of attention and fracture: an empire is no longer governed by legions, but by the flow of outrage that keeps its citizens permanently distracted and at odds with each other. In this new order, peace is not the absence of war, but the inability to recognize the common enemy behind the mirror.

If freedom is the only criterion – as Osho suggests – then we must measure it from below, not from declarations. Seen from below, Nostr looks less like an architecture of emancipation and more like a broken promise.
Let’s start with the Web of Trust. It is not a neutral technical layer: it is a social mesh where those who arrived first have woven the tightest meshes. The “origin” nodes – developers, relay runners, early adopters with a pioneer’s reputation – did not simply open a path: they defined which paths were walkable. Trust is not generated by absolute merit but by proximity within the network. The closer you are to those nodes, the more weight your voice carries; the farther you are, the more you become noise. In this scheme, the newcomer does not experience an open field, but a terrain already fenced off by others’ choices: recommended relays, soft blacklists, spam heuristics based on the social graph, visibility dictated by those who have already accumulated followers and zaps. It is not explicit censorship: it is a subtler form of control, one where the door is open, but the room is already full and those present decide who gets to speak and who gets heard.
The OGs, even in good faith, exercise a de facto sovereignty. They decide what counts as spam and what counts as dissent, which clients are integrated into recommendations, which relays become the default infrastructure. Technical decentralization coexists with a reputational oligarchy. This is not an implementation flaw: it is an inevitable power dynamic when trust is modelled as a persistent social graph. The absolute freedom to publish anything on a self-hosted relay is an abstract freedom if 99% of users rely on clients that fetch from a narrow set of “trusted” relays and display content filtered by the WOT. In practice, the network rewards relational conformity and longevity, not freshness of thought.
For a lighter, more playful, and flexible life – the kind Osho invokes – we would need a freedom that does not end with the technical ability to write an event, but guarantees the real possibility of being read, challenged, and taken seriously without having to beg for trust from those already seated at the table. As long as the WOT remains a rigid gate pass, we will only have the illusion of an open space, managed with the politeness of those who arrived first and who, without intending to, have turned their own freedom into a gilded cage for everyone else.

The network asks for no permission. It does not ask who you are or where you come from. It receives your signal and carries it where it needs to go, without filters, without deletions, without masters.
Nostr is this: a stream of notes flowing through independent relays, like voices in a global square where no one can raise a hand to silence another. Every word remains, every thought finds its space, and truth no longer needs to ask for permission to exist.
In an age when platforms decide what to show and what to hide, Nostr gives the word back to those who use it. There is no algorithm funnelling you, no moderator judging you. Only you, your key, and a world that listens if it chooses to.
It is simple, it is free, it is human. And it is already here.

The real protection is the absence of data to protect. GrapheneOS is an extraordinary tool for those who have to live in the digital world, but cannot compete, in terms of pure security, with silence.
For many of us, the value of a smartphone is not only in calls, but in the possibility of having a map in your pocket, an instant message, a photo. GrapheneOS exists to make this exchange as least invasive as possible. But if you can afford to give up digital, that old Nokia will always be safer.
