I read Malcolm Guite's Galahad and the Grail recently (which I highly recommend), and now I'm seeing Arthurian legends everywhere. Lord of the Rings is an Arthurian legend. There are Arthurian elements in LeGuinn's cosmology. I'm tempted to think at this point that the entire fantasy genre is really just a secularization of Arthur.

New release of Flotilla is out! This is the first primarily clanker-written version, so it's a combination of bugfixes, splashy but poorly thought out features, and busy work (many tests, much CI).
My favorite new features are related to dictation and TTS — if you enter an OpenRouter API key into your settings, you'll now have the ability to ask flotilla to read a message to you. You can also dictate a message, transcribe it, and send it as a chat message.
Lots of redesign too, making classifieds, threads, and calendars more useful. I've also gotten rid of the dumb home page and added an inbox view which spans all your spaces, as well as a kind 1 feed from people you follow.
But wait, there's more:
* Replace the home page with a dashboard of unread conversations, space activity and a network feed
* Redesign the calendar with month, week and agenda views, and add RSVPs
* Redesign classifieds as a browsable marketplace

This is a narrowly-focused DM relay. It supports negentropy, enforces recipient auth, 16 bits of pow, and evicts events after 3 months. I told claude to register for my gitea instance using a nostr nsec, and it did it. At one point it reported:

Yeah, it worked ok but I bought an early model so it was expensive and buggy. I made a couple hundred bucks over 4 winters. Newer models are probably better, and are much cheaper. Network hash rate is higher though. I say go for it.

Interesting post on AI blindness. I definitely feel this, lately I've been using claude more and more, but also having an increasingly hard time focusing on reading what it's saying. It's actually kind of like reading code — my eyes skip around looking for salient information, but that doesn't work nearly as well on unformatted prose as it does on indented, syntactical code.

Flotilla 1.9.1 is out — this release is the first release in which I do not resent the clankers for helping me:
1. re-write welshman's app framework
2. migrate flotilla to the new version
3. fix many arcane and subtle bugs I would never have found
4. synchronize implementations across flotilla, zooid, caravel, and welshman
5. keep my documentation and skills up to date
The main highlight this time is the addition of long-form articles. I added this because they're really useful as a basis for a content library and pinned messages, which were added last release.
Also, it's worth mentioning that Welshman 0.9.0 (and 0.9.1) is out as well. This includes a complete re-write of the app framework to prevent mixing user data in the case of multiple logins. I also added @welshman/domain, which includes a very nice framework (inspired by applesauce's factories) for parsing, validating, and writing nostr events. For example:
