Hi, Ray. Just a short break from the scam and sham of social media. I still like using Nostr + Moonstr to provide full and free lessons on my website, so thanks very much for giving me that embed code. It still works really well. I would spend more time on Nostr if I met more real people here, but even the 'real people' on Nostr that I have met are not real people. I know it might sound odd, but they aren't who they say they are. All the world is a stage, as Shakespeare pointed out long ago.

Plasma propulsion with Macka B in the background. Needs a little shake to get started. At full vacuum, there aren't enough ions to push it round; nevertheless, a Nostrian student mentioned 'reactionless thrust' a few months ago, something that I used to be really interested in, so I plan to put an old electrostatic motor in a vacuum chamber to see if 'reactionless thrust' is still science fiction.

The AQSTR campaign got my post at the top of trending 24 hour, but my budget wasn't very big: 6000 sats (+1200 for aqstr fees). I found it more effective by monetizing lots of different reactions (like, quote, follow, reply, etc.)

PHILOSOPHY - David Hume. Only 8000 zaps for lifetime membership of the entire 16-hour course.
Nothing appears more surprising to those, who consider human affairs with a philosophical eye, than the easiness with which the many are governed by the few; and the implicit submission, with which men resign their own sentiments and passions to those of their rulers. When we enquire by what means this wonder is effected, we shall find, that, as Force is always on the side of the governed, the governors have nothing to support them but opinion. It is therefore, on opinion only that government is founded; and this maxim extends to the most despotic and most military governments, as well as to the most free and most popular

I have asked lots of friends to come to Nostr, many of them Bitcoiners for years and years, but there is very little to attract them. Everyone is sick to death of social media: sick of bots, sick of AI, sick of scams, sick of fakes. I don't think Nostr offers them anything different from legacy social media, apart from the ability to send Bitcoin in one tap, which is admittedly awesome.

I think users would happily pay to find out who is following them solely to harvest their zaps. I would certainly pay. Nostr would attract far more new users if there were an effective way of muting/highlighting scammers. My first impression of Nostr came from the Geyser Fund scammers, and if I hadn't found a few students so quickly, I would have abandoned it right at the beginning.
