RTX 3090 as well. “MTP” is multi-token prediction. Details here:
https://unsloth.ai/docs/models/qwen3.6
“UD-Q4_K_XL” is unsloth’s 4-bit quantized model.
I want to keep context in VRAM for better performance and 27B quantized 4 bit seems to be the sweet spot on the 24G VRAM of the 3090

Awesome. Partly encouraged by listening to you and Justin talking about the power of local AI for freedom tech, I started on my own local setup.
Currently running Qwen3.6-27B MTP UD-Q4_K_XL on an RTX via llama.cpp on Linux (Pop OS) and Hermes Agent as my local brain. Eye opening how capable it is .
I’ll be setting up a second 3090 as the next step. Onward

I run qwen3.5-35b on a 3090 ( via llama.cpp ) and it’s blazing fast with a ctx-size of 32K but it fills too early. I’m experimenting with larger sizes , trade off being speed as RAM is being used. Any optimal context size in your experience

2026-03-31 14:32:37 UTC

Opencode running Qwen3.6 Plus 🥰

2026-03-29 23:18:14 UTC

Weekend project success!
✅ run Qwen3.5 35B on 3090 on old machine via llama.cpp
✅ use it from laptop on local network
Not only it works but it is very capable and it gives me over 100 tokens / s ( 2000+ for prompt eval)
It’s just… awesome.
Thanks @npub1trr…hdpu and @npub1zxu…cx2y for the inspiration from the podcast on sovereign AI.
Next steps: use it securely from anywhere , find more old “cheap” hardware and set up more models, use them from Hermes agent … onward

“Why does the company that profits from collecting user data draft legislation requiring every operating system to collect age data and broadcast it to every installed application via a system-level API?
Why do these bills mandate commercial age verification vendors (Yoti, Veriff, Jumio) whose business model is collecting biometric data, while the EU's equivalent uses open-source zero-knowledge proofs that reveal nothing beyond "over 18"? “

And this type of tech it *can* be deployed now, as demonstrated by google wallet:

I make the point that technology exists that allows age verification ( that is, user is older than 18 ) without revealing anything else about the user. If the concern were children safety , it would be used.
Instead, what is deployed to , ostensibly, verify the age, forces the user to reveal their identity.
Sometime that starts a good conversation.

My Zeus connects to my core lighting node over TOR. Sovereign but not as fast, not ideal for zaps.
Plus I can quickly connect to the same NWC wallet from any nostr app that supports it if I want to. 😃

At the beginning of his recent chat with @nprofile…6dtc , @nprofile…xncl makes a distinction between negative rights and positive rights. Or between innate rights and entitlements.
I find this a very useful frame to potentially understand where people are coming from when the topic of the right to free speech / financial privacy / private property comes up, and they tell me that these rights are "not absolute", "subordinated to the common good", "granted by the state", or other similar misconceptions.
They may be failing to make the distinction between rights, that are innate and absolute, with social aspirations, that aren't.
Worth listening to the full chat: https://fountain.fm/episode/NYbpu1Q0VDbbK7E1gRTl.
My loose transcription of the relevant part:
The Soviet Union and the United States fought over the definition of "Human Rights" after World War II. [... ]
What we would call "negative rights", that America pushed forward, are things the State can't do to you -- freedom from censorship, freedom from torture, freedom from arbitrary arrest, freedom from censorship. These are innate things that people are born with. The ability to gather, the ability to believe, the ability to think, the ability to have private property, the ability to own your labor: these are things that you are innately born with.
And then the Soviet Union was advancing what are called "positive rights" which are entitlements.
[...] If you read the UN Declaration of Human Rights you'll notice that the first half is all negative rights or civil liberties and the second half is entitlements (right to work, right to vacation, right to house, etc.) and these are nice things but the idea that they should be human rights forces a situation where all of a sudden someone else is forced to work from you.
[...] I disagree with positive rights as rights, I view them as social aspirations.

Hashers, that is, people running “miner” appliances who choose to point them to pools that don’t use spam filters are contributing to letting through spam that 99.9 % of people don’t want and that could easily be throttled down if more of us pointed the said ASICs to pools that do apply spam filters.
At the moment the only pool I know of that applies spam filters is @npub1qtv…7dze so I pointed to it.
The more people do the more there will be pressure on other pools to use spam filters and thereby help to limit ( if not eliminate) spam.
I don’t understand why the theoretical point keeps being made that it is not possible to eliminate all spam. The same could be said about email spam and yet no one argues that filtering out email spam is pointless.
