Oh, great... one thing I did seemingly lose: My Signal chat history 🙄 I guess it's a kind of punishment for preferring desktop over mobile...
There's just no way to transfer a Signal account from desktop to mobile, only from mobile to other mobile - you can't back up from desktop either & relinking back to the original Signal app on my previous phone, which I still have, nukes everything since I stopped using it, as if I was never on desktop at all.

- and this was even though it turned out I'd outsmarted myself & did, in fact, set up some kind of iCloud sync way back when I go this thing, so didn't lose that much data, or even any, after all.
Still not paying for that shit, though. It's the least they can do for me to be using their awful product every day.
