Sorry, I'm not seeing it. Rothbard was an An Cap and argued against the State and minarchism. Are you saying he wanted some minimal State? That was not clear when I read that book.

No I'm not. You said "It is physically impossible for efficiently operating solar panels to absorb 95% of the incoming sunlight."
That is incorrect. I'm trying to help you see the logic.
In a control volume analysis at steady state, you sum the energy inputs and output and the totals must match. 100% light in, 5% out as reflection, 15% out as electricity, 80% out as heat. 95% absorption splits into 15% and 80%.
The bare desert sand is probably 30-50% reflection and 50-70% absorption. The 50-70% absorbed light also leaves as heat.
So the article is not wrong on that point. But whether the difference between 80% sunlight being converted to heat and 50-79% is enough to affect the weather seems questionable to me.

Here's a source: 4% reflected, 96% absorbed. Of the 96, only 20% becomes electricity, the rest is heat.

You're conflating efficiency with absorption.
A PV panel has to absorb 100 w to make 15 w of electricity. That's the efficiency. The other 85 w is released as heat. This is just the first law of thermodynamics.

It's tax season, don't forget how immoral taxation is. You're being fleeced in ways you may not even realize.

Capital gains taxes combined with inflation make one of the more immoral and deceptive wealth extraction mechanisms the State has contrived.
I wrote about it and how Bitcoin eliminates the mechanism of injustice:

Ok, bad LLM. Try again when you actually understand what's going on. Have fun forking off.

Super cool video on Booth's book. I wrote an article on an adjacent topic. If it inspires you, feel free to use any of the concepts for one of your projects. I think, like the Price of Tomorrow, it is something most people don't recognize: https://primal.net/a/

Posts like this are why it's hard to take BIP110 supporters seriously.
On knotslies.com: Of course it's not neutral, but it documents the technical case for why the BIP cannot accomplish what it claims.
On persona: Have you been on X lately? There are accounts with "BIP110" in their profile and "rug the spammers" in their bio spouting exactly this kind of nonsense. Most are plebs, some are people I used to respect. Not all are bots, but many are. So when you say "we do not," you're ignoring a vocal contingent that clearly does.
On benefits: It still would be trivial to put arbitrary data in the chain. Block size and IBD stay the same so no benefit to node runners there. You're more likely to push spam into UTXO pollution, which is worse for node operators than OP_RETURN data that can be pruned. The opcode and tapscript restrictions hurt L2 development. And if Bitcoin is going to be money for everyone, L2s are how we get there. "Virtually no benefit" is being generous.
On chain split/forking off: Soft fork doesn't save you. There are three scenarios:
1) Majority mining support, smooth activation. This is your SegWit analogy but seems highly unlikely.
2) Split mining support, chain split. BIP110 has no replay protection. This creates a major mess. The 55% activation threshold and fixed activation date make this scenario possible in the unlikely event that enough miners are signaling and actually follow through. And all it takes is one non-compliant block within the year that BIP110 is active to set this off. Virtually guaranteed to happen if this scenario plays out.
3) Virtually no mining support. Enforcing nodes quietly fork themselves off the main chain while thinking they're still on Bitcoin. This is the most likely outcome.
Last point: If BIP110ers were serious, they wouldn't propose a temporary soft fork with an unprecedentedly low activation threshold. If this were actually a good solution, you wouldn't see so many normal Bitcoiners arguing it doesn't make Bitcoin better money. You would be able to achieve rough consensus socially and on chain.
The arguments about Core politics and tribalism are separate from whether BIP110 has enough merit to justify the risks.
Agree: your node, your rules. I just wouldn't want to be responsible for misleading people and losing credibility.

LoL, that's the best you've got?
"In many contexts" people were lining up to get the jab. Some even made it a huge part of their persona and went on moral crusades - just like BIP110 supporters.
By all means, run the node you want. This is anarchy. But recognize if your node enforces BIP110 rules, you are risking forking off or causing a chain split for virtually no benefit and some serious potential harm. FAFO. https://knotslies.com/

Well done. You put into words many vague sentiments I held. Our kids are just approaching the age where this matters and we certainly won't be turning them over to any State indoctrination centers.

BIP110 is like the covid jab.
A plausible narrative that uses people's good intentions to dupe them into compliance with a risky solution for a manufactured emergency. Supporters spout dubious moral claims with great assurance, founded on the scare tactics of a few "experts."
And just like the jab, it's a novel intervention that cannot possibly achieve its stated goals and will likely trigger autoimmune effects on Bitcoin's governance. After the panicking mob figures out they can live without their masks (filters) and boosters (consensus changes) and that the original immune defense (fees and the block size limit) was really what protected them, they'll eventually stop accusing dissenters of wanting to kill grandma (supporting spam).
