I am staying away from the iPhone Duo for a few years - the defects reported in this new device are deal breakers for me.
A MacBook Pro is a good choice. I'm typing on one right now. My prior MacBook Air was tight on ports and I found some devices wouldn't work on the port expander I had.
Make sure you buy more RAM than you think you need - you will use it. I went up to 24G from 8G and it wasn't enough for the local AI models I want to run. The ones it runs are FAST though.

The mechanic I use is within walking distance of my home. The place I went to before was within walking distance of work (before I retired).
The used to be a combination parking lot & repair shop near IAH when I was traveling a LOT. I used that place many times during that period. Still a parking lot, they converted the repair shop into a detail shop.

Umm. Let's think about a bit of England history and the Church of England.
In the 1500s King Henry VIII was made the head of the Church of England and broke with Rome in part to allow Henry to get a divorce.
You had tithes (10%) and church rates (property taxes) to support the Church of England.
The US revolution was in part driven by opposition to church rates to pay for Anglican churches.
That looks like a "christian nation" to me.

It depends.
In Colorado a "mine drop" ride at Glenwood Caverns reopened after a 6yo child died on the ride. They ended up getting sued and had a judgement over $100M for wrongful death - Chapter 11 bankruptcy has followed.
X2 at Magic Mountain might be closed for good if I understand the issues with that ride. It might not be possible to fix the seating to prevent injuries due to the motion of the ride.

https://www.manhattancontrarian.com/blog/2026-10-23-ideologues-try-their-hand-at-ordering-up-an-electrical-grid-powered-only-by-renewables
Taking another look at the Spanish island of El Hierro. With 11K residents, it has the goal of 100% wind power to generate electricity. Yeah, it has 11.5MW of windmills for a load of about 5MW. Yeah, it has a water storage system to capture excess power.
But the wind power was good for
- 2019 54%
- 2020, 42%
- 2021, 48%
- 2022, 48%
- 2023, 35%
- 2024 45%
- 2025, 44%
A diesel generator does the rest. Suggests they need 40x power storage.

Noticed the first drive light blinked more than the others. The defrag software read from all three drives but only wrote to the first one. Restoring from backup went fine & in a couple weeks we got a version that worked.
